Thank you! I guess I need a new tube. Will it be hard for me to stick it in there? Sad

If you have a PreSonus TubePRE, it's really not very hard. In the manual they tell you how. Get the right mid-sized phillips screwdriver and remove the four screws from the case... two on top and two on the bottom, then unscrew the plastic nuts around the quarter inch jacks in the back (I did this with my hand so as not to ding them up, it was easy) and remove the four screws that surround the XLR connectors. Then remove the left panel of the unit and the top and bottom which is easy at this point. Pull out the old tube (holding onto it's base since it is a bit of a flimzy socket arangement) and then insert the new one noting the orientation of the pins. There is a gap in the pins on a tube that need to match the gap in the pin holes on the socket. Make sure it's secure again making note to hold on to the socket with a finger since it is a tad fragile and reverse the steps above to reassemble the unit.

PS... I got the TungSol tube from Musician's Friend.

I need a couple of other things from Musician's Friend, so I'll add a new tube to the cart as well. I'd love a real voice processor, but I just don't have the $500 right now Sad

Thank you!

Colin,

Thanks for the wealth of information. Things are starting become clearer. I have actually created a folder and started saving them off. I learned from the first season, the files/tips may not hang around long when space becomes an issue.

So I have a request. Would it be possible for you to make available the previous episodes from season one. Like in an email or on your FTP site. Or even on one of your websites. This could be a section on it and all. Hell if you put enough of them together you could set them up as podcast and maybe even start charging for them.

Colin,

Thank you, your style of explaining all this technical information allows even me to "get it".

Any chance of explaining the reasons why and when we should bounce in stereo or mono.

Lynne

Colin,
I guess I dilly-dallied too long. Your generous FTP link doesn't seem active any longer. Any chance that I, too, could drink from the fountain of wisdom? Rolling Eyes
