Can't you record in mono and then save it in some way that forces it to be played on both speakers?

Colin or J.S. can probably explain this better, but ... the simple answer is this: with mono instead of two independent channels of audio you have the identical signal in two channels. The key is that the signal contains no level and arrival time/phase information that would simulate directional cues - or left & right. With mono you (should) still have audio coming from both speakers. It's just the SAME audio coming from both.

Todd is right.

When playing a mono file, sound should be of equal strength and loudness in each monitor.

If not, center your head between the speakers! Razz

I'm pretty sure that's George's problem. He is from Tennessee - so his head is permanently tilted to the left in that "Huh?" pose. Laughing

Yea yea yea....

Hey Tennessee is the only state to elect a right leaning (repuplican) senator in the last election.

But seriously....when I listen to that I don't get sound out of the right channel.

Does everyone else get it from both?

I am pretty sure they do. I will have to check it out in the morning.
(fighting a sore throat, don't want to record right now)

So, if when I double check it and if it's not....then what?

Is there an adjustment I need to make in my Sound Forge Audio Studio?

Maybe I had my headphones on backwards! I'll have to check my signal path and make sure my left and right are correct.

Colin,
Are you drinking and wearing headphones? Laughing
Just teasing.

Ok, so I tested this morning and I am only getting sound in my left ear.
Plus while I am recording I don't hear anything in my headphones.

And Todd much to my dismay only the left side of my meter is moving.

Shouldn't I be able to hear myself in both sides, my meter move on both sides and hear the play back in both ears?
Or does mono mean one eared. Confused
