Heather - I can't tell you specifically without seeing (maybe someone can) but you have something plugged in wrong - or maybe not plugged in all the way.

OK - there's really not much to the Fast Track. I assume your mic is plugged into the xlr jack and your outputs left AND right are going into your sound card - but I suspect that only one of them is. There's really not much more to screw up on that interface.

Well little do you know who your trying to help! Laughing

Checked all my plugs, wires and the lot. So, here is a photo of my stuff.
I did seem to have the USB in the wrong slot. That is now corrected and the photo will show it in the wrong slot.

Now the only other thing I can come up with is this.....could the XRL cable be wrong? I grabbed one from a friends, friend who had a bunch of extra cords.......... Confused

So here is the photo for your viewing pleasure.

I can't really tell from the pics - but it looks ok. It's possible thet the mic cable is bad - but I kinda doubt it.

Now that you have the usb plugged in right - does that help?

H,

I dont think it is a connection problem. It could be possible for your cable to be bad though....especially, if it is old like you said. I think you have a software issue during mixdown. Go ahead and highlight your waveform, right click your mouse and go into pan. Make sure your pans are set at zero for both right and left sides. Aslo, go ahead and change your mono setting to stereo for a try, just to see if that changes things. Wink

Ok, so I went into pan. Then when I clicked on process mode, selected mix channels before processing. They it takes the file into both sides.

So, does that mean I (when recording) should only hear it in one ear or should I be able to hear it in both.? Even in stereo I am only getting left ear action.

U should hear in both ears. When you play it back thru speakers, is it still one side?

I am still a one eared girl.............. sigh

I can only hear through my speakers when I save the file and open it separately. Sound isn't coming through the speakers while I am working on a file. I even tried unplugging my speakers........

Correct Todd! Only one meter moving.....

When playing back what I just recorded I do get a little movement from the right meter but not very much.

I think it's something going in - but I'm old school and don't use a usb interface - so I have hit the wall on this one.
