Hello all,
Finally getting around to posting my intro.
My name's Joe J Thomas, a VA in Los Angeles, and I've been playing with voices since grade school in Cleveland, OH. After years of theatre/improv/film/tv/radio, I've decided to pursue VO full on - what a hoot it's been!
I really enjoy Voice123 - it's been a great way to get consistent auditions under my belt, and land a couple good jobs as well. It paid for itself within 2 months - cant complain about that. Service response is excellent too...
I'm a bit of a "jack of all trades" in voice work... dialects, characters, impressions, promos... (I just can't make up my mind!) My latest project was "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" (video game) - who knew you could get paid to do what you love?!?!?
If you'd like to know a bit more, my Voice123 site is:
http://joethomas1.voice123.com
... and my personal home page is at:
http://www.JoeActor.com
I'd welcome any feedback you may have on my site or demos. Adapt, adopt and improve.
Pleased to meet you all - hope to be of service in some small way,
Joe J Thomas

Your demos are good. You sound like a seasoned professional and if you don't make it in the voiceover businees you'd make a great Nicolas Cage stand in. |

Thanks Louis!
Appreciate the feedback...
I'd take a gig as a stand-in for NC any day (had a hairdresser tell me that when I moved out to LaLa Land). |

Hi Rupa - you have a nice feel to your voice, and a great headshot too.
(and a singer too - do you have a demo for that? I've been working on mine)
Although I don't speak Hindi, I liked the Garnier spot.
Do you get a lot of Hindi work in NY/NJ?
Glad to see you get a good amount of work - my best to you,
Joe |

Thanks so much Joe!
I'm so glad you liked the Garnier one, even tho u dont understand the language.
I dont get too much Hindi work here, mostly English. Which is fine.. work is always welcome
I am still not a singing pro, so am not aiming for a demo as yet. But hopefully will do, soon! |

Welcome Joe,
Not so average, I'd say. A very impressive range! Wonderful characters. I'm with you - love doing those. When I was a kid I used to "collect" voices and how to count up to ten in other languages. Anyway, best of luck - I'll keep listening for you.

Hey Joe...That's awesome that you were in Marvel: UA...I submitted for Bruce Banner, since there was a nation-wide contest for the parts of him and Namor: the Sub-Mariner...Congrats on that and hope to be out there along side you in a couple of years!

Brad Venable

I was surprised when I got the e-mail from Activision. They got a lot of auditions on-line and at Comic-Con. It was a very good experience - everyone was friendly and very professional.
I'll save a stool for you in the booth,
Joe |

Thank you for the kind words Miriam. I've been fortunate to have some wonderful coaches along the way.
Hmmm... counting to 10 in other languages - that's one I haven't done yet. I guess we all have our ways of absorbing new sounds. I like that one (and may steal it from you!)
I'm learning Japanese at the moment. Never had much of a head for languages - 2 yrs of Spanish and all I can do is ask for a beer and the bathroom!
Pleased to meet you - best of luck in all your ventures,
Joe |
