On my next major class asignment a PSA is due. Points of evaluation are as follows:
Voice
Voice with music
and Voice, music, and effects
I went to the production room last, and tried to start my project.
The only thing I started was a waste of time.
I have a script to read- and realize the objective, but ran into a problem. I tried to make a wav file last night, tried to record one. But I kept getting a message that said I needed to load a track. Until this morning, I thought internally. But now after some deliberation and cerebal thinking I'm starting to wonder. I make a "Featurtte" last week (wav form) and e-mailed that to my instructor. Is there any one that can tell me at least the first five steps to get me on my way. I am not to familiar with the production dashboard what-so-ever. I can't even recall what kind it is. Is there someone who could help?
Thanks |

| What are you using for editing software? Not sure if I can help but I'll try. |

| I'm not even sure, I'm answering your question, but I did note that the system is using adobe1.5. |

Hmmm. Well, to record just the script, make sure you're in a single track screen. Record the script and save it as whatever. THEN, go to the Multitrack screen--that is where you insert individual tracks you've already recorded. You don't record in Multitrack--you just insert and edit tracks, so that's probably why it gave you that message.
Hope that helps for starters.

Charles, this is not something you're going to be able to solve or troubleshoot via a forum.
If you've been working at a radio station, and want to get into this business, and are not familiar with how to record, edit, save, etc. a .wav file (or any other type of audio file) and are not even aware of what program you're working in, then you may want to reconsider trying to get into this business. These are the very, very BASICS of sitting down and recording. You'll need to find someone at your school to sit with you and step you thru the process.
Good luck. _________________ Scott R. Pollak
