Two years and much whining later, I received my first "thanks, but you really stank" reply today.
The anticipation was such that it really wasn't worth the wait.

(Strange, though: I changed my e-mail address at the home V123 site today and suddenly received my first such notice. Meanwhile, Scott P has wallpapered his entire first floor with them....)

Colin, listen to this private lead I received a few days ago (I declined, of course) after I answered what I thought to be a legitimate gig:

"As far as payment, I would really like to keep the cost low at first. If you would be interested in getting 40% commission on all sponsors and advertising from the site after it is built.....I know that the advertisers I have already at www.**********.com would jump at the chance to be a sponsor. Just to give you an idea, I have around 150 advertisers on that website. I look forward to hearing your thoughts".

Ummmm....uh-huh...sure....yeah, right. I'll get back to you on that one. lachtot zensur

Geeze, just got something like my TENTH "thanks, but..." note of the week. It's been a GOOD week so far! ugh. This one was for that "1950's style announcer" for the "dangers with matches" spot. Man, I can just about recarpet the upstairs with all the "thanks but..." notes I've gotten lately!

I think we should ALL send Scott a "Thanks, but" note so he can start working on the main floor.

Thank you so much Mr. Pollack for this post but we've selected another blogger for this project. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Mr. Campbell, Thank you for your rejection of Mr. Pollak. Unfortunately we have chosen another rejection we felt better suited to Mr. Pollak's dynamic. We will, however keep you in mind for future rejections.

Please remove us from your speed dial.

There's definitely something amiss here. How can Scott get 10 of the "thanks but" emails A DAY, every day, and no one else ever gets any?
Scott's really kickin butt on every audition he submits and the rest of us suck apparently. hahahahahahaha Keep charging Scott!

Mr. Ellis, thank you for your rejection of Mr. Campbell's rejection of Mr. Pollak's earlier rejection. We anticipate the need to maintain a rejection-connection with you, so as to further enhance Mr. Pollak's dejection over his rejection.

Man!!! I hit the JACKPOT tonight!!! Came home from another night of doing "Moon Over Buffalo" (great crowd, terrific show by the way... ) and had not ONE, NOT TWO, BUT THREE, count 'em THREE "Thanks, but...." notes waiting for me! Whoo hoo!!!

Didn't get:
- the land developer mini-spot: "4. MALE: It’s like the world begins all over again -- every day. But always in a different way. Up here, no two mornings are the same."

- The OTHER spot for the same client: "3. HIKER: Get out there and do it as much as you can. Force yourself if you have to. Just get away and start walking. You’ll know why as soon as you do it."

- or the Christian Ministries spot: "These grants provide the fuel to jump-start the ministries. With a strong local mission, a plan for sustaining the ministry, and a vision for the future, local congregations become instruments of compassion, mercy and justice.

Matched and administered by the conferences, the grants are awarded on the basis of three fundamental elements. First, the proposed ministry must support a strong local mission. There must be a heart for the ministry. "

Who on earth is getting these jobs?
