I read a post the other day that said Windows XP with a Media package won't work with M-Audio interface...or something like that. Here are the specs on the computer I'm getting.....does everything look like it will work with an M-Audio FastTrack Pro MIDI interface and a Shure KSM32 mic?
Thanks for you quick help!

Disclaimer: NOT AN EXPERT!

However, I do know a lot and it looks fine to me. I have only heard of some issues with Windows Vista operating systems. You should be safe with XP. Of course someone else may know of some issues. Wink

How did you get XP on a new PC? Is that a refurb?

Anyway, as long as you have XP you'll be fine. It is the "home" edition which I don't like but it will work with your M-audio.

Hard drive is a little small at 40 gig. Also makes me think it is a refurb.

Hi Jane,

For the most part this setup looks ok.

Two things I would recommend though is increasing your memory from 512megabytes to 1 gigabyte and also as stated earlier you might want to upgrade that 40gb drive. Disk is cheap these days.

Thanks

The computer is two years old, but brand new in the box....my husband has two of them at work that they hadn't used yet....that's how we got XP. We plan on speeding it up...but didn't want to mess with it until we were sure it would be ok with the other stuff I'm ordering.
Thanks you guys!
