You guys are all doing so well. I think I'm going to record myself to Have a natural laryngitis sound as reference.
I'll post it if you guys want to hear how bad it is.
And yes, I've been on vocal rest most of the time for the last 3 days. Still bad. I think we have a major mold problem at work. >

Lawdy, Colin...your tweaking could bring drama to a grocery list.
That was very solid.
I give you...compared to dry and unenhanced...

Ah... yes but Robert, yours is "warmer." (I did like my read on that one. More of that "ducumentary thing" I'm working on.)

Pardon the noise. Have to run the air and cool down the family and this is just for fun...
For you Robert... (and Dina who mentioned I could read it for her anytime...) The Grocery List...

And... while I can't do Yoseminite Sam very well, I had to give it a shot since everyone else did....

Lisa - thank you for the lovely compliment!! Of all your spots I liked the resume one the best. It flowed very nicely and the crispness and sparkliness of your voice suited the copy well. I saw the Cookin' on the Range one but deleted that lead. Thought it was a bit too suspicious - since they asked for exact copy, no substitutions, wanted the entire copy read, etc...hmm.. I hope you sent them a low-res file?
Colin, that grocery list didn't include chocolate or beer. Whattsamatta wit you?!
Not sure the voice was right for the Gangsta but it cracked me up!! That's a Colin we don't hear too often! Your Osteopath read tho' - whoa - dramatic is right! If I were an osteopath, I'd be handing over my money right now for fear that you'd send Guido after me!
Robert - warmth and compassion were the characteristics du jour for your read!
Here's mine - might as well throw it in the pile!

The only thing I noticed about your read is that you were reading it as if you were driving with one foot one the gas pedal and one foot on the brake. With this sort of wild & crazy character - you have to just let it rip! Lose all the inhibition, forget who you are and just GO for broke! (providing of course you do this without hurting yourself vocally of course) I think if you hadn't held back, it would've been way better. The character is there - but you're not letting him out to play!

This is quite possibly the most honest and correct critique I've had yet. Grocery list... just for fun... Gangster... just for fun "but you never know." Osteopath... I meant it. Tried real hard on that one.
Bravo Maggie as usual

I've been told that before. I'll work on it.

Colin -- Your Yosemite Sam actually sounded like a pretty decent Wolfman Jack. I think the best Yosemite Sam was Maggie's.

And now.... a wet towel!
What's the deal on celebrity voices anyway?
If an individual or licensed "character-voice" is used without permission, do we not have a problem?
Now, I understand how Impersonators have an understanding with the audience of what's going on, but Radio spots would make no such provisions.
Meanwhile, a request from a client for a "Yosemite Sam" must be making the Seeker absolutely nuts - it's pretty bush-league.

Well, I'm sure mine is far enough away from Sam that it wouldn't be a problem.
