Hey September,

I liked your, Isis a little better than the, Hathor. The, Hathor seemed to be read a little slowly at the "Egyptian Goddess..." part IMO, and the Isis seemed to correct the problem, atleast from what my ears are hearing. Great reads though; love the tonal difference between the slight breathiness of love and sex, and the abruptness of wisdom and intellect.

Well done!

Hot off my success with the fine folks from Liquid Blue, I'm hoping lighting will strike twice in the gangster department. But just in case, I departed from my normal policy of sending in just a single demo and actually presented this client with two choices.

Meanwhile, on a totally unrelated topic, is it just me or are the e-mail notifications for some of today's job postings running exceptionally late? I've gotten a few e-mail alerts for auditions I submitted an hour or more earlier. I went back and looked at the postings a couple of times and there were already as many as 60 responses (including my own) by the time I got the e-mail.

Speaking of It'ly.... I have a sneaking suspicion that this is bigger than they are letting on. Thom... you are about to dwarf me on this one...

OK, I guess I'll throw my olive wreath into the ring, if only to show how many different interpretations are possible for the same piece of copy.

Good night for Wise Guys.

Plus, kiddies and pals... the challenge on the other one was in squeezing it in under 15 seconds. Just take a deep breath... and go! Smile

You kill me Ronald!! Love it!! On this one they wanted a "Yosimite Sam" and I know there's several of you who can nail that one. I just did what came out, added some "Big Western" music and even gave em a quick vocal tag for the hell of it. Here Tis...............

The guys are slick this week - badda bing, badda boom... he he he...

Ron, did you know that you sound a bit like Stallone on your read? Loved it though. Very realistic. Very funny.

Joe - nice characterization on yours' too!! I see you as the mob's hired sidekick guy.

Steve - you sounded a bit inconsistent with the accent or the characterization - but the ending part where you say "Did you get that? Don't make me come & get you" or whatever the line is - that was awesome!

Lee - liked the 2nd voice better and I'd slow it down a bit. He sounds a bit too "healthy" when you talk fast. Doesn't match the character as well.

As for the Roman Gods & Goddesses in the bunch... Nice work guys. Colin, yours' sounded a bit muffled and rushed. Did you do that deliberately?

Here's my Roman History piece added to the "Forum"

Sid.... resident hard-sell car-guy! Sales managers everywhere would be having "trouser accidents" on those ones, Sid. Smile

Nice little tag-sing, too.

Meanwhile, Thom's orating in continued fine form.

Man Sid... you nailed that sucker! The vocal quality is similar to Yosemite Sam but not the speech pattern. He tends to eeeeeeee-longate his syllables which is nearly impossible to do in a piece where you have to fit that many words into :30. But I don't care - that was awesome!!!

This reminds me of something. I was at an audition yesterday and they wanted "conversational" (the latest trend) but the copy is written "announcery". Same dilemma! Then later that evening, I was recording a private audition and same thing. They want conversational tone for a piece that's written for an announcer. Sometimes I think no matter how talented a voice artist is, in the end you can only do the best you can with the copy you're given.
