Scott... now the Colorado spot was on my Shure condenser. I'm beginning to see how the RE-20 suits you Scott. You are king of the relaxed read and a good dynamic like the RE-20 has a relaxed sound. It fits. A condenser is more "edgy."

I'M starting to think I need one of each for different situations.

Sigh.... guess I need to start shopping dynamics. The Shure SM-7 would probably be my choice for a dynamic but alas, that means another boom and some way to switch back and forth and of course about $500.

My God, Colin. I never thought I would see the day when you would consider going over to the dark side, AKA dynamic mics.

What next? Giving up the 528E? Switching from the Lynx? Going Mac? Dating men?

HOLY CRAP!!

Maggie and Colin...I could absolutely hear your voices during museum exhibits and narrating on A&E or the History Channel!! Wow!! I went to an IMAXX show about the Amazon last year and the voice was NOWHERE near the caliber of you guys! Amazing! You are what I want to be when I grow up!!! Very Happy

Thanks September!!

By the way, here's something that's right up your alley. Thought of you when I saw the lead! This was one of the leads last week on "male enhancement" - it's a tag, supposed to be read in a seductive, sexy voice. I guess the men will be a better judge of this one. Wink

A DYNAMIC JUST IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS ERIK. The real pros have more than one mic.

Um, while that thought might've been on my mind, it was actually Erik who said it, Colin.

NAUGHTY MAGGIE, NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY....

I would have posted earlier, but your sultry read sent me for a cold shower. Well done, girl. It smoked and purred.

Thanks for the thumbs-up, Scott. I admit that I find it much, much easier to work in a studio with things like direction and video feeds to work with.

That self-direction thing is a hard nut to crack, which is why I will argue to my last sing-song breath that this forum is a boon.

Voice On!

I AM SO SORRY SCOTT! Erik, post above edited.

I'm sorry Scott. I assumed and you know what that does.

Man, nobody even notices me around here anymore. I post a smart-ass comment and I still get overlooked. *Sigh*

...and you'll have to pry my cold, dead hands off my 528e. (Unless of course I can afford an AirTools at $1600... Symetrix's new line.)

OK, my own little microphone shootout. Above you heard the History Channel read over an Electrovoice RE-27 microphone... a dynamic. Here is the same read done on a Shure KSM32, a condenser.

You be the judge....

I think you tried this once before.

I gotta go with the RE-27 on this one. I don't even think it was that close of a call. I'm sure others will beg to differ.

Doesn't anybody else like to sound silly once in a while?

This for that weird King role in the bizarre, incomprehensible animation thing set in the Land of UniCorn posted today:

Colin me thinks its starting to really come together for you. Alot of hard work, I'm sure but it seems you're on a roll big boy. Wow, keep it up and someday I might be able to say, "ya, I know that guy, he used to hang with us at V123."
