I thought the GT&T add copy pretty much SUCKED.

Most interesting will be seeing what happens in the "new" system with us needing to "Be Picky" in what we submit.

I'da dropped this one like stinky guano.

That said, I'm curious about responses to lead submissions. I joined two Fridays ago. I submitted some 40 leads this week. I've heard NOTHING on ANY of them. Is it too early? Is this normal? Will Timmy fall in the well? Will Betty marry Bob. Just curious.

At the risk of getting myself back into trouble here again (I'm pretty gunshy now...) Marilyn, I agree totally with Colin. Your read sounded like you were directing it to 8 year olds. If you can, listen to an episode of "Planet Earth" narrated by Sigourney Weaver. There is a measured maturity in her delivery, a calming seriousness. I felt like you were telling me more about a birthday party.

We need to be able to really interpret the copy, and attempt to envision the intended audience, to successfully deliver the winning read. It's all part of the learning/growning v/o process.

I hope my comments weren't too strong. Just trying to help. I was really making more of general comment about what I hear all over the place, on TV, radio, etc. A lot of (certainly not all) female voices in high places seem to just smile along. If males do that we are relgated to the stone age of 60's radio dinosaurs.
