Did anyone else get contacted by an indy film "Payne and Redemption" to do a gratis La Fontaine read for them? I only submitted because I have a weak spot in my heart for indy filmmakers and they promised me credit, so you never know who might hear my voice on the trailer. Just wondering if anyone else got the same private lead?

Here's a brief clip....

Be a-feared. I'm singing, again.

I'm a total pushover when it comes to a chance to sing.

...now, this is annoying. I hear the hiss after I've uploaded it here (listening to it in Preview mode), but I never hear it when I'm playing it after MP3-ing it on my home systems. Gah! It's with layering the parts, because the hiss reduces as the voices are removed...

It sure is quiet in here...

This is a 2-part audition... I'm just reading the female part, and the announcer at the end. Thanks for input!

Insipid though the ostensibly natural chat was, I stabbed at it, too.

It's more fun, though, with two actual voices.
Kim, wanna go for a drive with me?

THE ABOVE AUDITION CONTAINS OBSCENE LANGUAGE AND MALE OOMPH. LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED....
You don't post nearly often enough, Anthony....I mean, you are unique.

It took me a long ten seconds to get into your delivery. But you cooked, Tony...you seethed. I couldn't do that in a thousand takes. Way to bring it home.

(I'd only suggest that you keep an ear out for your habit of starting each and every phrase with emphasis and volume. Spread it out a bit for effect, maybe.)

Williams On!

Robert, thanks for the dance! I was hoping someone would take on the role of my husband... daunting as that task may be...Smile

Amanda, I couldn't open your file for some reason.

Tony... my bro'!

Man, I've missed hearing your posts here. You've been a scarce commodity. I got rated - I think - a 1 star by that client. Your voice is really well-suited for that, and while the F word doesn't bother me (even though I do NOT use it in daily life) you gotta wonder why they want to use it so much in this piece. Sometimes authors replace content with shock value. In the piece I posted at the top of this thread, the Payne & Redemption movie trailer piece, I had one line I had to read for them with the F word in it "He's lost his F****** mind!" and it felt really odd to read it.

Anyway, thanks for sharing this and I hope you get the gig! You deserve it!

Hi Guys,

Again I apologize for the "f" word in this take they asked me to do . It is something I do not use in my everyday language.

Robert,

Thanks for your compliments and comments and taking the time to listen. Doing this second take did kinda make it a little uncomfortable in that I have four little boys here at home and I do not use that type of language around them less known in everyday life.

Maxine,

Sorry about the shock Value on the "f' word . I had to try and separate myself and do what was asked of me professionally according to the clients needs. I will be sure to warn just in case anything happens to me like that again.

Scott,

Thanks for that, its good to see others that have been through the shock value of what the client asked for as well. When looking at the scenes from the movie and what the client was trying to portray. The pictures alone made you feel as if you were there in that moment. It allowed me to put myself in the moment emotionally to say the words the way i did.

Again I apologize to anyone offended by the language I had to express from the author

Sincerely
