So I practiced this general voicemail script all day. Potential client is a church needing general options voice.

Just as I was getting it right, RIIIIIIIIIING. Ugh....ticked me off Grand. Think you got your ducks in a row (at least to your satisfaction)? You've read and re-read the script over dozens of times. Your pipes are feeling great and ready for this. You are seconds from completing your work of art and RIIIIIING......

I could of sworn the ringer was off but think again Randy....oh think again....

Radio stations wire the phone to the mic button to mute it. Wish I could make it work like that at my home studio.

A friend just messaged me and said it be even more interesting if the church were to hear the language I used against the phone.

Yeah, that's a guaranteed slam dunk gig met with approval from the parishioners huh?....

I was just thinking the same thing! What makes it so funny is that you were recording for a church!

I can't tell you how relatable that is! In my basement studio add the following interuptions...

Dog chasing cat.
Kid running down the hall.
Toilet flush.
Washer spin cycle.
Neighbor mowing lawn.
Air conditioner/furnace.

It's the worst, Randy. I always disconnect the phones.
(Not just when I'm recording; I just always disconnect the phones. There are bill collectors out there.)

I also disconnect the kids and put the neighbour in the furnace and the cat in the toilet.

You've got to be serious and professional about this stuff, Randy.

Randy, I feel your pain. Sorry to admit, I'm ROLFMAO over your reaction, esp for a church audition.
What a way to teach Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Laughing

A member of that very church is a friend of mine and he's how I got the gig.

I told him about the interruption following a dozen trials and preparation on my end.

He simply grinned and said "With a sense of humor he can often force us to answer the billion dollar question: Who said heaven can wait and most importantly, who's in charge Randy?...." Shocked

Glad to read that I have friends who can identify with this. I feel much, much better now.

Randy,

"Fricken" is bad language? You haven't been in my studio.

BTW, when I moved into my house, I had no idea Jason and his chainsaw lived next door.
