The Wilhelm Scream

There is a small piece in Wired magazine this month about the Wilhelm Scream.

For those who don't know, This VO guy recorded a scream for the 1951 movie Distant Drums and it has since become kind of an inside joke among sound engineers who like to sneak it into the movies they are working on. It has been discovered in over 130 movies including Star Wars, Indiana Jones and most recently Transformers. I found this YouTube clip that has a lot of them.

Who knows, maybe something you were working on today could still be in use 56 years from now.

ok, that was totally worth it just for the "Howard the Duck" and "Willow" bits!!
