Really, really nice, Thom 'n Maggie.
If I wasn't such a tough macho guy, I'd even admit it moved me.
But I am, so I won't.
Duet On!

Oh, natural... trying.
This is for a possible future project. I sound dehydrated, but tried everything I could to take care of that.

Hi Kim. Terrific presentation
As to "natural": remember, there ain't no such thing!
A couple of tips, however, for presenting "natural": It's about more inflection and less emphasis, shorter pauses in sentences and the odd run-on phrase or two... or three.
The speed/pacing is determined either by the producer or copy-limitations. That is - time available. (see producer or copy for details.)

Kim,
Very nice read. Unforced, calm, smooth, believable. I think you hit a home run on it with the one exception of a few popping plosives.

Yeah. What Colin just did - more inflection and less emphasis (with the exception of one "every" and the last "everything"). Some run-on phrasing and ta-daaaa!
I bought it, Colin!

Oh Scott!
I like the White Christmas promo. You sure are up there all right...right up there with Don Lardo. Ever heard of Lardo, he's the announcer or vo person in Atlanta that is a Don Pardo soundalike. In other words, awesome job!
Hail.

Hail,
Are you serious? All I hear is my regular neighbor guy "reading" a script. You "read" something and I still can recall what you "read".
Nothing caught my eye/ear/or anything else for that matter.
Are you trying to sell anyone on anything here?
Boring.

Yes, but Randy, did you like it?
Stop waffling!
What Randy and I heard there Hail, were two problems:
1) That isn't exactly a text that cried for a Pollakian "guy next door" chattiness. That almost cried for a car-commercial up-tempo. So the attempt was misplaced to begin with.
2) You sounded hesitant and uncertain: a voice totally undecided about which approach to take. So it took none.
It's great to practice that friendly, Uncle Hail stuff. Start with the right text. Then decide you are Uncle Hail. Than talk to me.
Right, Randy?
Voice On!

Jadah, upon reading and "hearing" your perception and interpretation, YES, you are correct.
I didn't like it, but yes, you are correct.

No matter the approach, that kind of "yell & sell" copy - with a 30 second limitation for 45 seconds of copy - is going to come off as corny at best, and just goofy at worst.
Your character is done well enough, Hail - it just doesn't work in this scenario.

Hi everyone,
I have on my swim fins and I am jumping into the shark tank!
I almost never post anything here.....please be gentle with me!
This was from earlier this week.
The first one I read two different ways. The second one called for a sad mother.
Thom & Maggie, I really like your voices together. Very good job.
It's really pretty fun to see people teaming up on certain projects!!
Scott loved the White Christmas spot! We have a Fox theatre here in St. Louis....I thought maybe it was for us..... But, alas it was another Fox theatre.
