This is kind of out of sorts for me but I thought I'd try it, it was a repost because the client didn't want a VO sound, more of a professor lecture sound, so I tried something halfway between conversational and scholarly. Probably way off but what the hey....

Chris.....You sounded just like one of my old professors, unfortunately that didn't really change the fact that the materal was dull. I used to fall asleep in that borring geology class too though so don't take it personally. You did well at what you were trying to go for. Good job...... schlafen

Thanks Edwin.....impersonations are not my strong point, but the accent wasn't hard.

Here's my Hospital Read.

Chris --
Which begs the question: what is a professional VO sound? Announcer? Natural? Conversational? Whenever you doling out facts, is it ever REALLY conversational? You sounded very much in a character here, Brit-like. Are college professors always scholarly? Not the ones I've had, but I didn't go to Ivy league schools. I think this read makes the actual information get lost in the delivery. Who knows if this is the kind of direction the seeker wanted, Chris. But thanks for getting me thinking on this!

Deby

I've got to say I loved your Britney and sea turtle girl. Your voice quality and cadences are perfect for those reads, and you were right on with your acting here -- great job. Not so much for the hospital read which might need a more mature/older sounding voice. Liked the music bed, though. I didn't get that one -- was that from 123?

The lead specified a British VO, which gave me pause, but I decided to go with it. It had been reposted because the client didn't want it to sound like a VO but like a casual prof lecturing an audience type of thing, the lead said "This will require some acting ability". Hmm, OK.....SO yes, no idear if this is what they want but I figgered why not!!

Hey everyone,

Just goofin' this morning.
I made something up for the show intro lead . I'm sure they'll poo-poo it...whatever. I'm off to a radio remote at a local PetCo...I'm the emcee/judge at a pet Halloween costume contest.
Fun, huh?

Enjoy your day.

That's odd, Bry -- usually when you post a reply you just add an attachment under filename (click on "choose file", select, and submit). Is that what you did?

A friend of mine runs an internet station ...well costs were piling up and he decided to ask for donations. He had writen a spot that was so dry you could see tumbleweeds blowing through as you read it. I deceided to kind of re-write in a whold different direction....and here it is
Hope you get a giggle out of it

That's so funny, Bry -- did he run it that way? And more importantly -- did he get the funds to stay in business from it?
(music was overpowering your voice in spots, but I liked the swell as you let it play out at the end!)

I can hear what you mean about the music..and yes he ran it as is. It's only been running for about 8 hours, so we'll have to see if he gets any donations...LOL. Thank you so much Diane for your expertise on this

Bryan....That was funny. I actually loved the "cheezy music". Does the station generate income from commercials or subscriptions? I'm curious.

Diane....Thanks for the compliments. I think Britney's voice is younger and softer than my imitation. That turtle thing was a cold read, I don't really like spending a lot of time on auditions when there's no budget to motivate me. The hospital thing did come in through V123, but I happen to live in the region it was for. I wouldn't doubt it if they go with someone who has more of a NY accent.

Deby as far as I know the station has a few paying sponsors but now very many. I think they rely mostly on donations. By the way I'm a big fan of your work

Thanks Bryan. I think you should add your money beg spot to your v123 page. Just out curiousity, what kind of music is played on this internet radio station?

Colin.....Nice job. I hope you get a decent rating. I liked the music bed. I thought about adding some Mozart to mine, but I misplaced the CD.
