This is a spot from a little while back.
I have to say to anyone who is writing dialogue scripts:
Please don't ask "regular people" to say, "as well as"...it just isn't normal!!!
P.S. My neighbor has a cat named Cabo, so I have always been uncomfortable with the idea of "putting Cabo up on the wall."

Thank you Caryn and Colin -
The male voice is the very talented Darren McCormick.
I really enjoy dialogue spots, and Darren is really easy to work with.

And they almost never are.

That's why I like to write - I get 'em the way I want 'em! I didn't write the one I submitted here, though.
One of the most frustrating things about scriptwriting has been when a masterpiece is created, only to be gutted by a client - they take out the punchline to put in their phone number, or take out a line at the front that's tied to the conclusion - you know what I mean! Arghhh!
That's showbiz...

Congrats on landing the gig, Karen! And nice work too!
Speaking of that (sorry for going a little OT here...), is it normal for the producers to return the finished spot? Or is it something you ask them kindly for? What's the "un/official policy" about this in The States?
In Denmark, some do automaticly, some do it by request, and some never do, even when asked nicely!

Good Work Karen!
Is it just me or did the jingle remind anyone of that "Wake me up before you go go" song by Wham?
I love that digital sound at the very end!

Thanks Deby - yep, the Wham song is apparently where that came from...
There's a chain of smoothie stores around here - Juice Shack. Guess where THEIR jingle came from?
"Juice Shack, baby Juice Shack - yeah!" Think beehive hairdo!

Karen! VERY nice! I like the jingle, too, and I HATE jingles!
Very, very well done to both you and Darren!
Very nice!

Thanks Scott - high praise (I've read you on L&R so I appreciate your positive comments
)
Jingles can certainly drive you crazy, and at the same time, a good one is an excellent way to brand a business. Get that jingle in the consumer's head, and when they need your service - who do they think of first? Think of those jingles you've heard for 10, 20, even 30 years! Ack! I know, I know - but they work! Personally, I like to brand with a voice (or voices) and a style of writing the spots. Over the years I've gotten to write series of spots for the same clients, and have found the best response occurs when the script is written humorously and under the assumption that the audience is intelligent.

In my 49 year old world it would be.... "Let me get back to that Juice Shack... oh yeah that Juice Shack."
Thinly vailed pop quiz.
