Hey what the heck, let me be the first into the fry'n pan.

This is from TOS. Direction was:

"I'm looking for an authoritative, mature male documentary style voice - a voice that has an honest, fact believing quality."

Well, I tried.
Beeps are the breaks in the narration.

This is just beautiful! Wonderful flow, rich resonant quality, trustworthy, natural delivery. LOVE it! (didn't care for the beeps, though) I'd rate it a 5 -- no, wait, TOS doesn't do those fun ratings...

Thanks Diane, the beeps, yeah, after listened back a day later, they are kind of annoying .. a PITA watermark I suppose.

Well, I haven't had much to post here lately. And it's been even longer since I've bothered to check any leads at voices-dot-com, but came across this and thought I'd go head-to-head with JJ. Here we go....

... and then I went back and found THIS oddball lead where they want ad-lib dialogue for English-language courses. This is using their script. Ideally it's supposed to be male/female, but for the audition I did it as male/male (obviously). It's as close as I can get to sounding 'ad lib' while reading a script.

Wow! JJ, Scott, Thom...Love the flat rock reads...it helps to start with a great script...and you guys nailed it. Thom, I don't remember hearing you before but I sure won't forget that rich sound soon...
Scott...what the heck! what an odd script for the language thing..I made the mistake of listening to it before I knew what it was and couldn't figure out what they were selling...and why they were taking so long to get to the point...You brought that natural, friendly sound of yours to it ..... I hope it's just what they wanted Smile

How is the Bud Light guy "20 something, cool guy, upbeat, over-the-top?" He's a middle aged announcer with attitude, isn't he? Oh well... here's mine. I feel I'll probably get ripped pretty good on this one...

Colin - Good read at matching the Bud announcer - but they did want younger and toned down - I don't think you hit the 20 something sound... I know I couldn't...

Sorry Colin, I didn't hear 20 something, cool guy or ubeat...but I did hear the bud light 'dude with attitude'...They sound 'schitzo'...I liked your read, hopefully when they hear it, it will help them decide what exactly they want...good luck dude!

I forgot to mention, I am looking for a talent who can give me an upbeat read like Ben Stein....who sounds like Alastair Cooke with undertones of Mr. T and and Pee-Wee Herman.....20 ish and hip. Is anyone else confused by these descriptions?
