Deby,

For what its worth...I thought that the oohs and ahhs are part of "round two" for us less than confident folks (ie me). Thought they were looking at tone first, with a callback to the ones preferred. Personally, I don't see the point of half stepping my way from C2-C4 on the first round...I would rather have fun with it. Just my two cents...By the by, the jingle sounded pretty good for someone claiming to be a sickly gal... Smile

Dave - They've yet to open any Roomie reads yet. Looks like they are concentrating on the Announcer voice first (100%)

Anyway, here's my Roomie -
I really need to slow down on reads.

Nice work everyone!

I posted this one this week, I think... and was rated a 5. Earlier this year, the very talented Sid Whatley generously offered to create my first jingle so I shamelessly used that as the music bed for the audition (and yes, that's his voice you hear in the tag!) Thank you Sid!!! Very Happy

It was for a store looking for their "Voice of Love & Romance" with ongoing gigs throughout the year. I don't know if they've already chosen the talent but it would be sweet indeed! Cool

James, liked your roomie - it sounded younger than me and Dave (although great reads!)... Got a 5 on the Airrosti dramatic from the future thing... they asked me to resubmit with some more direction. (Said I sounded inconsistent and sometimes too old.) So here are both.

Since so many "roomie" auds are posted, here's my "announcer" - I don't usually give two reads, but got busy second-guessing everything that day...
The rating was a 4, avg 3.4

Here's my announcer for the cable bit. I didn't submit here b/c I submitted thru an agent, so no rating.

Kent -

I can see what they meant by you slipping into a a bit of "old" character there. Made me see that old preacher in "Blazing Saddles" just for a second. Or maybe "Doc" from "Back To The Future". Smile

But, darn...those are NICE reads and what a juicy script! Fun concept lifted from "The Terminator" stories. You did a great job. Hope you get it!

Haven't had much time to listen to the L&R this week. Been too busy talking car talk over on the Chit Chat forum. So anyway...

Thom: Your Habersham was just delicious. Pure Wilkins. Man oh man, I'm glad not to have gone up against that. I don't know what they're looking for, but that was pure aural beauty. Loved the music, too.

Colin: I did that Google thing, too. They wanted it to sound really ad lib and I'm afraid you'll always have that announcer bit hiding in you. Not a bad thing; it's what makes you who you are! However, you gave Thom a run for his money with the Habersham. I'd just about echo my comments here. This is one of your best. Man, this is good stuff. And I liked YOUR music, too. GREAT job to both of you!! Just beautiful. Beautiful.

Didn't receive the "Roomie" lead and was wondering what on earth was going on with all the postings here! It's really hard to critique since it's all bits and pieces of a conversation.

Kent: While I despise all these get-rich-quick-but-we-can't-tell-you-what-we-sell websites, I did greatly enjoy your Alvin Screech. I do hope, though, for the sake of your integrity, that this is one job you don't get!
Wink

Maggie:
Nice to hear you back again. Wow. This is SO in your zone. I could just SEE the smile in your voice. I've never heard anyone make so many seven-ninety-nines sound so natural! Great!

And here's one I submitted this morning that I just love. This is one of those you REALLY hope to get.
(good budget, too!)

Added: And they opened it within 5 minutes of submitting and gave it 5 stars! Yesssssssssss!!!

Scott-

Nice job on the Christmas read... the music was a nice touch.

I tried that out as well with more of a "reading to my kids" feel.

-Dave DeAndrea

p.s. It's been opened and they gave me a 5 too! Game on! Very Happy

Thanks Scott. You know how much I admire Thom's work so to even come close on Habersham is an honor. I did think I was just a tad more "real" but I'm never really convinced that real actually sells a client. Thom's golden tones probably carry the day on that. Thom's is as you say Scott... just great. I didn't hear Thom's until after I did mine.
