im uploading a few demos right now... but i dont think im fit for this ...

what i mean by that is first off... the auditions i used to see here... were things like small advertisements... i am more of a cartoon or animated voice... for acting... so i dont think im going to fit in for making any money...

is this true or am i mistaken

Robert,

I have to give you kudos for your quest for realism. I clicked over to your page, and you're right. What you've presented there most likely will never get you work through this site or anywhere else.

And your demos are not actual demos. They're clips of sounds, more than anything else.

We don't know what you're capable of, though, since you've not shown that on your v123 page. (Oh, and don't talk yourself down on anything that is intended to promote -- though a little humiliation in your honesty is always refreshing)

Being honest with yourself is the first step. As you listen to the true character voice guys here (do a search of talent with the words "character" and "male") ask yourself if you can match any of them in both what you can do and what you can present. If you honestly think you can, get with some VOs locally, invest in a workshop (there are a couple of folks in your area who present some pretty good stuff, though at a price) and hire someone to help you produce an actual demo. But continue to search and ask yourself the tough, honest questions. Even the best have to compete with the best...and only one person can get the job. This is the hardest form of acting in which to compete. It's brutal.

Best of luck to you.

I think the best way you can start off is to listen to other demos from people on the forum. Go to their sites and get a feel for how their demos sound. If you want to head in the animated/cartoon direction, check out Simon Hill's stuff (there are others but I'm at a loss of names right now) Take your current demos off for now until you have a more substantial demo to present.

And just read, read, read these forums.

Cheers and good luck,
Cameron

Cameron, the other names that come to my mind would be Rajiv Hasan, Kara Edwards and Bob Bergen.

And Melba... did you perhaps mean a little HUMILITY instead of "(Oh, and don't talk yourself down on anything that is intended to promote -- though a little humiliation in your honesty is always refreshing) "
LOL
Laughing
