Something I just keyed in a post on another topic made me think of this terrible gaffe I made in a live kids' show once. (not that there weren't many other gaffes...this is just the most horrifying)
I was the puppeteer and we were improvising live on stage in front of an audience full of little children and their mommies. My puppet character was talking about mailing himself somewhere exotic so he could afford a vacation. I meant to say "I'm going to mail myself to Sumatra." But instead of "Sumatra" I said...kama sutra.
Yep. I talk good for money. |

YIKES!
I was so horrified, I have no idea what the guy out front responded with at the time, but he was eager to jibe me as soon as the show was over, in spite of how crestfallen I was. He said he should've responded with, "Well, that'll be quite a ride". But that would've been just too wrong. |
