Hello -

I have been reading posts, listening to demos, taking notes and still I plow forward. I have been in and out of the VO business over the past 17 years. I am looking to dive back in. I have posted demos on V123 and welcome any and all feedback. I have also sent to some friends in prodcution for feedback as well. I fully realize this is a business requiring tenacity, effort and humility. So, that being said, I welcome your comments and critiques.

Hey there, Kevin!

You've got a nice, comforting voice. Lots of midwest regionalism yet you sound like you've been softened just enough by the south for a real, folksy warmth. But you're really young-sounding, too. Nice combination. I could hear you booking a Craker Barrel kind of thing, you know? You do know you need to listen for a bit of nasality creeping in, though, right?

Looked at your locale. Are you in N'ville? This is my market. If you're here sometime, maybe we'll run into each other at one the studios. Best to you!

thanks Melba! Smile

Indeed, I battle the "nasal creep" and often the sinus click...need to keep working it out - practice, practice, practice... I live in Atlanta but travel to Nashville one or two time each month. Hope to see you around town!

cheers
Kevin

Ahh...sinus clicks and puffy nasals...'tis the price we pay for living in the lush green pollination petri-dish which we call the south. Well, except for that 100 years drought thing. Call next time you're in town. I'll fill up some of my grandaddy's moonshine jugs with water for you.

Welcome to the sandbox, Kevin.
You're sounding fine, and it's nice to have another one of dem der actor types on board.

The drawback, of course, is that we tend to have some lilt and flourish to our deliveries. Be advised that in your case - as in mine -that translates into a sing-song pattern that some seekers call 'a signature delivery'. Others don't call at all.

Thanks Robert, I hadn't thought of that. Went back to listen to a few other recordings and indeed its there. Again with the practice thing - oy! I really do appreciate the feedback, I need to be able to listen to my own voice more obectively.

cheers
Kevin
