It's Culture Time, folks; enough already with Uncle Toby's Tire Emporium and PhurrBall Cat Food.
The gracious Diane Havens and I continue our mammoth project of reading the entire body (it seems) of English literature for an educational web site.
(In fact, I'm up to my headphones in large projects. I'd give half a larynx for a nice small jobbie.)
Here's a joined-in-progress snippet from today's 10-minute marathon: the ghost of Hamlet's father.
It's from a play; you know...literature. By this Brit guy who just couldn't shut up: Bill something or other.
Verily On!

Awesome work RJ.. and kudos to Diane Havens for adding the extra added flare at the end. As Forrest Gump would say,
"You are like Peas and Carrots".

Thanks, Allison -- but it's not the best example of my work on this project. Hey, Jadah -- don't make me post my Gertrude now!!!

Good stuff, but RJ, why does it sound like you're under water? I'm serious... is this a really low bitrate file or did you add some phasing FX to this?

Okay, Anthony, since you twisted my arm. This is still a work in progress, but here's a clip from my most recent take.
Scott -- Robert is Hamlet's father's ghost so the fx are appropriate to the scene.

My daily routine as a V/O guy consists of saying inane things like “Member FDIC”, “Please play responsibly” and the ever popular “Greatest hits of the 80’s, 90’s and today” so it’s refreshing to hear somebody performing true art.
It takes a true artist to make Shakespeare compelling (to me anyway)… Congratulations to both of you. Nice work!

Tom --
What a truly lovely thing to say.
But let me say that, for me, it is not so difficult to make such melodic and beautiful language sound compelling; I find it much more challenging to make bland ad copy and tedious business language sound compelling.
That's what you, and many others here, do so well. And for that, I applaud you.

Geez ... I work for the Lottery and I don't even get to say "Please play responsibly."

That's not too difficult Lee. Try adding "Wanna Play?" at the end of a :15 sec bit for Powerball! I tend to say it like I'm applying for a job with Heidi Fleiss.
