Yet another entrant into the VO world - Vista Question

Greetings. I just recieved my first VO demo and am ready to hit the pavement. Technical question to anyone...I want to set up a home studio but am working off of Windows Vista. Does anyone have a solution for a PC microphone that would work with Vista? Thanks.

Welcome, George. A quick way to get up and running might be to pick the MicPort Pro. It works with Vista (one of my laptops runs on that). You can use it to connect your mike (I use an ElectroVoice RE-20, for example) to your computer and make quality recordings. A lot of VO artists are taking them on the road and using them in hotel rooms. But it really is adequate to use at home, too. If you want a preamp, you can run the MicPort Pro out of your preamp into your computer. And of course, there are less mobile alternatives to the MicPort Pro; M-Audio has more than several, such as the Fast Track Pro that you might check out.
