It is a bit lackluster, Dan. Your reads sound like your reading and there's not much variety. I see, by a wander over to your web page, where you work...and I'm a little surprised that what I assume is a first attempt from you isn't a little better. Do you teach? Do you engineer? I'm curious. Has anyone there listened to this? If I'm being too nosey, then just ignore me. Or you can PM me. But, yes, I'd scrap this, study some more and use some of the wonderful resources at your disposal to improve.

Dan you have some misspelled words on your V123 page. You also need to capitalize I.

The engineering sounds like it was all done the same way. I hope this was your engineering and not the "new guy" at you know where.

I remember the scripts and performances you did at Paul's class. You did the voice of Mr Incredible really well!!! I would like to hear more interesting scripts like that. I did like the IVR spot....except the fade out. Never fade out. Your voice and talent is way more interesting than this demo. It does not do you justice. I've seen what you can do.

I also think you might want to try a trailer for a romantic comedy.

You have provided the exact kind of feedback I was looking for. This is (quite obviously) not a professional demo. I have very little training, and we spent very little time tweaking this demo at all. Didn't even go over any scripts beforehand. What I really wanted to see is that people are giving honest evaluations here. I have read a few posts and saw that that there were many glowing reviews of demos, and very few that were harsh and critical. Of course, there were very few demos I heard on here that were not good quality.
I basically wanted to see, before I recommended that people post work up here, that people are being blunt and honest, and not fluffing people and saying how great they are, even if the work stinks. (Like mine does, I assure you!)

Glad to see that people using voiceoversavvy are NOT afraid to say it like it is!

Well Dan I wouldn't say it stinks...It's not like you tripped on the words or mispronounced stuff...It's just dull.

It's nice to see another Derby ite on here though

(from faded memory, so not exact):

"Why are you smiling?"

"I know something that you do not know."

"And what would that be?"

"I am not....left-handed!"

Wink
