This is my first audition with a new mic. The much hated TLM103. I have to say I really like it though.

No idea why that would be a much-hated mike, Josh. Sounds mighty sweet to me!

Thanks, Scott. It seems there are a lot of folks who I've run into on various message boards that really hate that mic. I agree with you though.

Josh - Relax. A mic does not make a career or a living. You can make money using a TLM103, or any number of mics disparaged by the "haters." Cash your checks and forget them.
FYI- I use it as my principal mic in two studios.

And I use the EV RE-20, often looked down upon as nothing more than a 'broadcast workhorse' (which it is). But it's landed me my share of work. A mike is only as good as the voice that drives it, and Josh, you have a good voice.

Thanks guys, and great voices/demos!
I'm glad I finally tried out a 103 again. I think when you find a mic you really like, it boosts your confidence when doing auditions and work. Purely a personal thing though, because of course most of the listening public couldn't tell the difference, nor would they care.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback. That's ALWAYS appreciated.

Here's the instruction for a Don't Mess With Texas anti-litter campaign:
Looking for a female or male twenty something for a voice over tag of a celebrity driven Don't Mess with Texas spot.
For those unfamiliar, Don't Mess with Texas is a litter prevention campaign that has been around for 21 years.
The VO may be used to tag more than one spot.
The read should be aimed at 16-24 year-olds, cool vee-jay-like without being too sales-y.
I might sound a little older than the age group suggested, but hey, they might like it anyway. Nice budget on this one! 79 submitted out of 100 requested, none opened yet.

Lance:
How weird is this! If everything goes right, I'm supposed to be in the studio tomorrow recording a 10 Times Powerball commercial for another state's lottery! (different project from yours) I hope your audition pans out, you've got the Guy Smiley thing down pat. If mine works out, I'll be on WGTG with it.

Yeah, David, I think your pipes are a bit too deep to be what they're looking for.
That budget was tantalizing but I know I'm definitely not in their preferred demo. If this lead had been on Voices I probably would have submitted it and wasted not only my own time but the client's as well. But since we're supposed to be picky around here, I decided not to risk a low rating, especially knowing there are several participants of this forum who were likely to nail it. I guess that's SmartCast in action.

How wierd is this. I work for another state's lottery (one that also has Powerball). But that didn't stop me from auditioning for the 10-X.
They said they wanted a 60's style, Don Pardo-ish read. Unfortunately, there was way too much copy to do it justice in 30 seconds. So I submitted two demos -- one in 30 seconds and a "related" demo done the way I thought it should be done.
