Colin,

Is it just me and my harman/kardons or are you saying ASH-fault on those spots?

That's how they say it in Ohio.

There's a spot running in Los Angeles right now - The first time the announcer says "Hundai" as"Hun-deye" (long I), the second time, it's "Hun-Day". My guess is that it's someone's attempt to compromise after a long argument on the topic.

Where I come from (not originally) it's HUN-DAY.

ReallY?! Man... I gotta get out more. I've always heard it/said it like it's spelled... ass-fault.

Now let's all wait patiently and see who makes a joke about it... wait for it...... wait for it......

Not me, Dave. I wouldn't make any CRACKS about something like that! Not an old FART like me. Nope. But I won't discourage others from going for it. Don't want to be considered an old POOP. Think I'll BUTT out now.....

Aaargh! I lost the bet!! Here's a message I just sent to Melba:

Quote:
Place your bets, Melba. I just left a comment on Leads and Reads that's begging for someone to use a "play on words" crude comment. Who do you think will do it first? Pollak? Jadah? Debbie? Lee?

I'm leaning towards Lee or Pollak.... I'll say Lee. How about you?

Man!! I shoulda gone with my gut instinct!!! kopf gegen wand I'll never underestimate you again, Scott!

I wasn't about to let you down, buddy! Besides, who else besides me has absolutely NO life and cruises these boards all day? (Although, despite my ever-continuing plummet in the personal stats of this stupid site, I DID land another VERY nice job from here today!)

To paraphrase Mr. Jadah:
"Derriere on!"

Dave -- Sorry to butt in so late in the discussion. I went down to New Haven for dinner tonight so I'm a little behind in my forum visitation. Otherwise I'm sure I would have come up with some sort of wise crack. Maybe even a whole lot of them.

Meanwhile, on a another topic being discussed in this thread, there is at least one Hyundai dealer in my area who not only has the announcer say "hun-die" in the voiceover, he also has the jingle singers do it that way and on those occasions when the owner appears in the spots, that's how he says it, too. These guys also promote their website in the spots by saying "Shop naked 24 hours a day at first hyundai dot com."

"whole"? Oh, Lee -- you did not just e-say that. I always underestimate you. Laughing

Now back to your regularly scheduled L&R. I don't usually post, but this is my son, who still sounds like a baby Ewok at the nearly-manly age of 11, from an audition we recently submitted for my Chicago agent. He'll have surgery within a month to remove the severe sinus impaction which affects his voice and speech perception, so he won't sound so itty-bitty much longer. But I love his voice...and I always will. (Hey, at least I'm not making you look at vacation slides....)

I'm just catching the Tail End of this conversation but it reminds me of a commercial running on our local cable for "Aciphex" Heartburn Medication...yep go ahead and read that one aloud....

Anyway here's my "Pitcher" No contest with Scotts or Boscos... but hopefully in the strikezone at least...

Melba:

I thought your son did a great job! He probably has an excellent coach.

Jacob:

I tried the Pitcher thing but decided not to submit. I couldn't get the 'conficence' in my voice make it sound like a thought in my head at the same time. Your read had the confidence all right, but it didn't sound to me like a thought. (Am I making sense?) But it just may be what the seeker is looking for.

Deby:

Can't hear any rasp in your voice. Still sweet as candy.

This couldn't be any more different than Deby's -- so I thought I would put it out here.
