Sorry to cram so much into one post, but after two weeks' absence on my annual pilgrimage to mecca (mecca my mapla syrupa, that is) the sap has stopped running (insert U.S political system joke here), my life was further sweetened these past few days by:
1) the appearance in my mailbox of the CD Divine Mercy Readings (2008- Inter-Missions), being the readings of the diary of Ste. Faustina of Poland, in which I play (sigh) the voice of Satan. I attach a snippet, and salute especially the unknown voice of a British Jesus, who out-and-out steals this hour-long audio presentation.
2) no less than three regional ads which begin airing this week.
3) A Thursday studio audition for a national TV ad, and
4) News from my agent that I'm still in the running for a six-figure gig for which I read three weeks ago. The five finalist auds are now in LA.

Now, because genuine Quebec maple syrup is more difficult to make than perfect auditions (it takes 40 gallons of sap - and a good deal more Moosehead - to distill one gallon of syrup), I am offering a free syrup sample to the first Savvy'er to catch one of my regionals - see 2) above - this week.

Hint: There's a TV one in Atlanta, and radio in Southern Ontario and Newfoundland.

First come, first served.

Vie On!

Well, being on the southern Oregon Coast I guess I'll have to retreat back into the arms of Mrs. Butterworth, but I congratulate your continued (and well earned) success, Mr. Jadah... and thanks for posting... you ugly monster you. Twisted Evil

"We will destroy you!" (Method voice acting tip used by Robert: "Someone has stolen Moosehead.")

Love it, Robert! Well done, sir!

It always amazes me that a man so kind and gentle by nature can be so horrifying by acting. As for the rest of your triumphs, no surprise there, O Thee of Superlative Talent.

A warm congratulations!

And keep on rollin',

I'm a big Jadah fan.... always. Wonderful as per usual.

Congrats on all the work coming your way and here's to much more. Then maybe you won't have to forage through the woods for your syrup and you can buy it at the store like the rest of us.

JUST JOSHING!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could win the syrup (that would be soooo cool!) but apparently your spot won't be airing here. Dang. That's how it goes....

Can't wait to hear what other great gigs you've landed.... I'm sure it won't be long of a wait!

Robert,

I doubt anyone on this forum could possibly be any happier for you than I am. I've come to know you as a witty, loving, talented, delightful old curmudgeon. (I want to be like you when I grow up!) This is all so wonderful and reminds me of a week I had similar to this a month or two ago when all the v/o planets and stars just seemed to be aligning. I hope and pray all of these come thru for you, especially the 6-figure gig. Wow.

And the sample clip was phenomenal; just terrific.

Can't wait to try to figure out which bit is running in our Atlanta market.

Sap On!!!

We're such a wacky and wonderful bunch: cheering convincingly for every job our competition bags. Somehow, I cannot imagine Ford dashing off congratulations to Chevrolet for every vehicle they sell.

It's really nice. I muchly appreciate the kind words.

In keeping with my curmudgeonly standards, I am almost ready to postulate that - for some people - leaving the shallows of the voice sites is actually beneficial.
I, for one, have been much better served and paid for VO work since permitting my subscriptions to lapse. I do not know why, but suggest that - for some - getting tangled up in the thickets of small budgets, small ratings, and small minds can really mess up your runners.

Or, put another way, pro golfers do well to set their sights high, and would likely be much less successful were they to worry about mini-putt rounds.

Which is, by the way, also a clue to the Atlanta TV spot.

Northern Comfort awaits!

Drone On!

Oh My....

Satan or not, I think I need to go and take a cold shower now. What a fabulous, narcotic voice you have Robert.

The only thing that could possibly make that diabolical snippet even more delicious, is to hear it in French.....

Marvelous.

Robert....you little devil you......Very Good.....I'm happy for you. Can you introduce me to your agent, bye the way.

I have to say though your evil voice was disturbing....but not half as disturbing as the fact that Jesus sounds really sexy roll smilie

I mean that's just not right......but if that's the voice of Jesus...Can I play Mary Magdalin ....(not sure how to spell that one)

Hey Robert,

Were those regionals you booked the ones where they were looking for a Robert Jadah type? I seem to be booking a lot of those myself these days.

Congrats,

j.s.
