| So, Do you guys keep a DNR (Do Not Reply) list? I watch for certain clients that I've done a number of auditions and never got and they rated low. I just say no to those auditions because it seems they have a certain something they are looking for. I've checked out some of their websites also and the work they do is nothing special either.

Scott,
Why couldn't you have whipped out that "1 star" performance for the Mother's Wax audition???

I'm not as concerned with the "1-star" seekers as I am with the ones who separately post every script they have for a particular client, or even similar clients.
I would think that they should be able to find the voice they are looking for by comparing samples of a single spot and then, once they have found their voice, just have that person read whatever other spots they need done.
I would also think that if an agency specializes in a particular type of business such as golf resports, and that most of the spots they do are similar in style, that they wouldn't have to put each one out for audition individually but would be able to select several voices from among the submissions they receive for any one project and assign them to the others.
It seems to happen more on Voice than it does here, however. And it's easier to tell because they identify the seekers by name and some of those names become quite familiar after a while. For example, today I saw an audition from an agency that seems to specialize in spots for a few political candidates. The one today was more of a "real person" than an announcer, but in the past they have posted two or three similar spots for the same candidate at the same time. That sort of thing makes me feel as if perhaps they are posting their scripts and then just stealing the ones they like.
