well, kinda. "Has the voice seeker opened your audition/proposal?
("Opened" could be playing back, downloading, rating, reading, or deleting your audition and/or proposal) . That's a lot of different things that "might" have happened. _________________ Life is short but sweet, for certain

And don't forget the inconsistency with which the ratings are used -- or not used.
So whether this Smartcast is so smart is still a matter of opinion. But it sure sparks lots of spirited discussions, and gives you lots of cool screens to scroll through, warnings to heed, stats to linger over, colorful boxes to read -- oh, it goes on and on....which can be very entertaining in the time you have while not getting jobs here. _________________ Diane

While it's true that a demo being "opened" is not a positive sign that it has been listened to, a demo being unopened is a positive sign that it hasn't.
Same with ratings. Getting no rating for a lead does not tell us whether the seeker liked it or not, even if others did get ratings for the same job. Nor is getting a 4 or 5 a guarantee that we'll be hired. But getting a 1 or 2, no matter how unfairly it may have been applied, is a pretty good indication that we shouldn't be hanging around the in-box waiting to be contacted about that particular job.
In either case, it's not perfect information, but it's more information than we used to get. _________________ For more voice over demos, my life story, and other foolishness, please visit my website at www.leegordonproductions.com |

Mr Jadah is spot on when he said there is life outside of these sites. So far, I haven't gotten doodly squat from 123. Maybe it's me or my style, but that doesn't matter. Selling yourself everywhere else is what matters.
Don't fear rejection. It's more common than being hired by a mile. Just press on and ALWAYS approach clients from a mind set of confidence. |

I love the first spot on your very last demo....Place that one first!!!!!
That is the most conversational. The problem with most of this is ....to me....it sounds to much like every other talented radio guy.....to much like a professional voice for hire and not like my neighbor.
Also the real estate one is very bad........You need to memorize that script backwards and forwards and recite it instead of reading it.....And why not....It's a demo....You have the time......It's worth it.
I also suggest some theater.....take some wacky parts....then think what that character would sell.....Like Adelaid from Guys and Dolls would probably sell lipstick or mascara with a high pitched NYC accent....There's some characters from To Kill a Mocking Bird that would probably sell fishing bate. Maybe one accent that you can do naturally. Are from the north or the south?
I hope this helps....You do have great energy and you are talented....You just have to find what makes you unique! Are you really truthfully into real estate or do you just use that because you think it's what they want. Would you rather be drinking beer or going to hooters than talking about real estate? Do a beer and hooters spot. Or whatever it is that you can be passionate about. Aid to Darfor????Anti war??? Religion? Don't be afraid to take risks. The right people will respect you for it. Show me something about your personality that has nothing to do with your radio job!!!! I have no idea who you are even after listening to your demos
You listen to my demos you know I probably do yoga....am interested in biology, have a thing for Charlie Brown cartoons maybe visit museums on my day off....can act like a snorting male swine with a think southern drawl....Perhaps watch too much of "The simple Life" or Access Hollywood and just maybe I'm into internet dating....and dress like a witch on Halloween.....
Ofcourse on the off chance that Real Estate is your passion....perhaps you just have a dull personality.....and even then you could play that up......Bueler Bueler .....anyone anyone.... |
