I sometimes use the Voxengo Tube Amp VST Plugin and it adds warmth without adding simulated tube noisiness. Shockingly good and subtle warmth for free.

The other really simple "richness" tool this time via compression for those who don't know too much about geeky stuff is this:

The "vocal" setting may require the output reduced a bit and the ratio reduced from 3:1 to 2:1...but it's no muss no fuss. I used it on almost half of my recent character demo over on Critique My Demo.

All of the kjaerhus Classic Series is excellent. And it is all free. I like their offerings for sale very much.
