Hi all,

I'm curious if anyone knows about, or has used, www.yankback.com? It's a system that delays the delivery of your emails by whatever time period you choose. I believe this is done by temporarily storing your email on another server, with a time-limit for the storage…before sending it to your intended recipient.

It's meant for anyone who's ever thought, "Oh crap!!" after sending an email, anyone who’s sent an email to a group when thinking they were just sending to one person, (oops), anyone that's been angry and has fired off an email and hit "send" and then almost immediately regretted it, (I’m positive none of us have ever done that, of course!), anyone that's sending a professional email to a client and forgotten to include the attachment and had to send a SECOND email with an apology saying... "Sorry! I forgot the attachment!"….and anyone who has hit “reply,” instead of “forward” and ended up sending some unwanted text to the wrong person.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this program? It seems like kind of a good idea.

Max

P.S. (And we can all probably do without the potential sarcastic replies that say, "Well, shouldn't you just THINK before you hit send?" I know that all of us have sent emails that for whatever reason, we wished we'd waited to hit send or sent inadvertently.)

Yeah, that seems like a good idea -- now if only there were a similar system in place for all the stupid things people SAY to each other in person.

Heh, heh...touche', Diane.

Once upon a time, I received an email from a director of an improv group, which she had sent to everyone she hired -- about 30 people at the time. I then received a reply from one of the other performers "in confidence" about a personal conflict between two of the other performers -- his fiancee and her former roomie. I wondered why he was telling me this. Then I realized he had meant to send it only to the director and had hit "reply all" instead! The thought of how that furious fiancee was going to make pay him for that gave me a laugh for several days.

It's always funny when it happens to someone else.
