If it works for you great. I don't like to permanently mount mine so I can wear the panty hose on my head when I need to think.

Nikki, LOL, thank you. The legs make it easier for placement. Very little if any air goes through, but when I’ve tried it, the sound seems muffled to me. I’m using the “panty” part doubled. I have a “real” one on the way, the store says it’s backordered.
George, I guess I need to experiment more.

It’s hard to see from the photo, but aside from the one t-shirt in front (Ms. Snively, it’s embroidered by me, fyi), there are all sorts of clothing hanging all around me, boxes, fabric and quilt batting on the shelves, and the ceiling is popcorn. Anything you hear of mine (on Demo of the Day, etc.) that has no music is done from this closet. If you notice a boxy sound or something undesirable, do please let me know. When I’ve been critiqued, it’s mostly about the “sibs” and “plos” and not the closet – but maybe that’s next, ooops. There is a larger picture of this “studio” in the Chit Chat Pictures section.
By the way, I see that we are both in South Florida. I’m close to the Broward/Palm Beach County line, not far from the Sawgrass. (That’s South Florida talk, to all ya’ll.)

| The panty part is too thick. You want the leg part, doubled, like in the picture I posted for you.

| Amy's right, by the way. You want only the sheerer nylon which won't muffle sound waves. The more open weave also distributes the air flow more effectively to help eliminate plosives.

The store I bought it from here locally is the same music store that has been nice, and allowed me to trade when an item didn’t work. So unless they say their source is out, I’ll wait for them to get it in. Poor Heidi.

Whoops, I’m a bit off here, I meant the Sawgrass Expressway. I am mall-disordered, hardly ever go to a mall and I think I’ve been to the Sawgrass Mall twice in 10 years. The airboating sounds like fun and yes it counts more; too bad about all the development. I am in Palm Beach county just east of 441/SR 7. So I am a bit more east and north actually.

Is "plosives" a word? The real thing, a real "popper stopper" is cheap enough. I use a Sampson PS01.

When I first set up my system, I had a different board and a dynamic mic. There was a lot of artifact though I don't think the mic itself was at fault. In any case, I traded the mic in for a condenser. I still have a clip that I taped for a show even with the noise, and they chose to run it, and didn't have a problem with the noise once it went through their system.
I've attached a short clip from it for comparison purposes, since most of you have hear the different sounds my current condenser mics make. I am not sure if I shouldn't post it under the other thread too - the DonLaFontaine thread.
ps: I have a referral to a speech therapist coming too.
