Let me get this straight. I get to pay $295 for a year of submitting dozens of auditions, many of which the seeker never bothers to open, and the majority of the remainder left unrated. Hmm. Not sold yet.
I got it! What if seekers and 11 year old kids could say anything at all about me WITH TOTAL ANONYMITY!
If I could just get that, baby, I'm in! What? They offer that too?
WOOOOHOOOO!

You know, my subscription is up next week.
As I prayerfully contemplated whether or not to renew, I asked, "Show me a sign ..."
I think I have my answer.

Diane,
I have been pondering the same question as next month is supposed to be my renewal.
I agree. We have our answer.
Alot of INCREDIBLE talent have already left.
At least I will have these boards to frequent and chat.

Ok.
I did a little research through some source code and here is my take on this:
Eventually, when V123 gets enough data...(TAGS) they will start putting a link to the tags you have received underneath the corresponding demo. When you visit your home page, you will be able to click on the link and see what others have said about that particular demo. At that time you will be able to keep or delete what you choose.
So get ready to monitor those home pages daily...hourly...Minute by Minute!!!

Why not give us the option to lock our pages?
or better yet.
"Your tag has been logged and is pending approval by the talent"
Oh bugger it!
V123: Break your site all you want. I will be investing my money elsewhere come July.
Thanks,

| This could get challenging from a time management standpoint. At any given moment of any day, we could all soon be faced with the dilemma of whether to check our tags or submit an audition for a voiceover to be played at Susie Lou's Sweet 16 Party.

Ok, I'm back (hahahaha), went for a brief walk but it didn't help much.
The silly thing is - the only people we should have analyzing our demos, are PEOPLE WHO CAN HIRE US!!! Why on earth would it be "valuable" to know what other, totally anonymous, maybe-not-even-voice-actors, maybe 10-year-old kids, or just “other talent in general,” think of our demo?
And for most of us, who has time to sit around listening to OTHER people's demos and then adding comments to them? Why would we care?
And yes, if we WANT our demos critiqued, we have a bevy of wonderful, savvy, experienced, friends that we trust, right here who will do that for us! And we all know each other’s names!
And Cameron’s comment about their blog says it all: They don't allow anonymous and instantaneous posts on their blog, but we, (the paying customers), have no say-so over what gets added to our demos.
Wow.
P.S. I really wish some of the "slew of talent" that contacted V123 and asked for this, (that Steven referred to), would pipe up here and let us know why they think it's a good idea. (And how many is a "slew" anyway? Is it more than a few, less than several?) :~)
And OMG Ron, just saw you post. I'm a working v/o! How are we supposed to have the time to keep monitoring so many things? If I DO have any free time I'd rather use it to rant on the boards!

I get it Ron....thank you so much for that info! So, in other words, there will eventually be links to "comments" about our demos that voice-seekers can see? And if we're away at a job, several of those comments might accumulate before we can see what they say...
What if some of those comments sway the voice-seekers opinion as to whether to send us a private lead? What if one of the tags says, "SUCKS." Who's then responsible for us not getting a lead? The anonymous tagger?
This is such a bad idea it's almost utterly laughable. Luckily I have to go to work now so I'm actually being FORCED away from the boards. I'll check in later! xoxox

Hi, gang...what's new?
I just thought I'd stop by my old playground and check on what my friends are doing.
Say what?
They've got you playing Tag now?
Well, that's no surprise. After Pin the Blame on the Donkey, Blind Cast's Bluff, and Read Over/Read Over, what did you expect?
Next, you know, they'll have you all playing Wring Around the Roster.
Voice On!

Here's another one...Same guy:
Entertainment Newscaster Character Project ID: LTK144010975723X Project Description:
We are looking for an adult male to play the role of an upbeat, energetic Entertainment Newscaster (ie. Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, etc.) in a non-profit feature-length animated film. The Newscaster is reading copy about the death of a rock musician in an (inappropriately) upbeat manner. The last line is a response to a comment made by the character's co-anchor. The role is small and there is no pay other than screen credit.
"There are no small roles...only cheap voice seekers!"

Here's an idea:
Why doesn't V123 put a new feature on their site that allows talents to rate THEIR services?? Maybe a 10 or 15-question survey, rating them from 1 to 5 on various aspects of the service and put it right up there on the home page for everyone to see?
I allowed my subscription to expire after the first year and I don't get to check in here often since then - but everytime I come back to peruse the Savvy forum for a bit, I learn of new lows the management of this place seems to sink to.
Why don't they just concentrate on making the site the best site it can be and do all the things that the paying customers expect them to do and stop implementing new "ideas" developed during bong parties???
Maxine, rega
