I hope that at some point, all the Voice Savvy regulars who are there will gather for a big group photo that you can post here for the benefit of those of us who can't be there.

Has anyone checked the location of the hotel?

The shopping triangle isn't all that far, for those looking to do some heavy shopping (or just browse the stores on Rodeo).

You know Greg, I know the coordinators have sent out a couple of emails with links to "things to do" by the hotel. I deleted them thinking the info would be on their site, but I can't find it. Darn! But yeah, from what I've read, there's a ton of things to see and do within walking distance.

There sure is.

Now here's the best part. They have a Hertz rental agency at the hotel, so that if you are only going to rent for a day or two, you can without having to pay the parking fees.

With some luck, you can use a travel site to get the rental for much less $ direct from the hotel.

Here's a list of some of the local stuff http://www.centuryplaza.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/services/local/attractions/listings.jsp

Also, that Friday night, there is a celebration to the recording industry for their work in animation that won't be too far from the hotel. Tix are cheap too!

Here's some info on that http://www.oscars.org/events/soundbehindimage2/index.html

There's also a bus that goes from Beverly hills to Sunset boulevard to the stars.
Nobody uses it, but it works very well, I've taken it!
So you can survive without a car, contrary to what people will tell you! Very Happy

depends on where you're traveling to...

try to hit Burbank and you're going to need one. Frankly it's more efficient.

If you're just going to stay in the local area and see the local sites, there's no real need for a car.

Absolutely! I was just pointing out that there is a bus that goes from Beverly Hills to the touristic points.
But it's pretty much the only bus, so if you want to go anywhere else, you'll need a car!
But if you can't afford a car, you can still see the walk of fame, the Kodak theatre etc...

Ha! I don't have a problem renting a car, I just don't want to drive in LA!!!!

I lived in NYC for 4 years, and never drove once! I also didn't like the subway during rush hour, and was known to walk to and fro work on nice days -- about 4 miles each way.

I love pedestrian cities.

Soooo... if whatever we decide to see/do (I need to do some research, huh?), I'm game for renting the car, if someone wants to drive the darn thing!

Laughing

Driving in LA: Easy, maybe some annoyance due to be stuck in traffic

Driving in London: scary, possible tears of fear or rage

Driving on a Spanish Island: will turn anyone to religion as it feels necessary to recite prayers continuously during the journey and to thank God when you've made it to destination alive.

I'm sure you'll find someone to drive the car in LA! Very Happy

I highly recommend the VIP tour of the Universal Studios if you've got time. You'll get to walk on film sets, it's awesome!

Yikes! I feel like I haven't been on here for days. Work kind of took over for a bit, (and I wish it was always like that!)

Yes, I'll be there. Can't wait!

LOL Thomas!! I wish I could fly you in!! Hey, have I ever told you I have a brother that lives in Geneva?

I guess I can suck it up and drive if I need to.

But I may not need to. Going to do research to see what cool attractions are within walking distance... or cab distance (I assume there are cabs).

Like I said, I gotta research.
