I really hate to sound so ignorant here, but I need to know what an AIFF file is. I have an audition that I have voiced (I have to pay for studio time until I get a mic and USB mixer) and would like to send it in, but they only want an AIF file. I'm using Audacity (becuase it's free) and can't find a way to export it in that format; only in MP3 or WAV. I appreciate any help anyone can offer.
I also get alot from reading other's Q&A's on here. Thank you all for taking the time to post and answer.
Wishing you a prosperous year,
Larry Edens |

Larry:
Others will give you much more tech talk than I can.
But I send my AIF files through SendYourFiles.com. The cost is negligible.
And good luck on bringing the studio to you...

Hello Larry,
With Audacity you can export files in different formats, in this case you could export as WAVE and convert the files to Aiff using iTunes. iTunes will give you the option to export as a high quality Aiff.
Here´s a link you can use to download it:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Let us know if anymore assistance is needed.

Freddie-
Do people actually work with just Audacity? I tried it and while it did function, I couldn't (maybe didn't try hard enough) get it to do a lot of the things that audition and pro tools will do.
Thanks, _________________ 865-686-8925

Of course people use it, especially newer folks who can't afford the pricetag of either piece of commercial software. |

Thanks, |
I normally use AA 2.0, but sometimes for little stuff you can get good things out of Audacity, it is free, not as complete, but it can get you there. |
