Connie; Yes, I couldn't believe it. I sent out my garageband edited audio to a couple of other audio professionals and vo talents and they agree: its top quality- recording directly into the MacBook with a USB condenser mic and preamp. I'm not tech savvy though, so what works for me, might not work if you need to seriously tweak your audio. But I'm learning that even in garageband, there are built in methods for equalization and all that other stuff. Highly suggest if you have a mac store in town, you get their $99 procare, where you can have weekly tutoring sessions, built in.
That's how this old tape splicer is learning non-linear editing! Good luck.
