hello, my name is randy

just wanted to introduce myself. i am hear because i am trying to be a future voice talent and this is the perfect place for exchange of information and feedback. alot of people say they like the range of voices and immitations i do at work, but i believe that the opinions that matter the most are the ones from people in the biz. i am trying to find some decent equipment to put together some demos so that when i get a premium account i can put them up and some truly meaningful feedback can be recieved. i hope that this will be the begining of something cool.

thank you for your time. Very Happy

Hello Guys

There are lots of recording systems out there, a couple of hardware/software bundles we could recommend are the Mbox2 or Fast Track Pro, and here you’ll find the links:

For microphones Shure is always a good choice for the money:

I am slowly trying to put an inexpensive studio together, got me a decent mic, downloaded addacity( now if I could just figure it out) Shocked now the problem I'm runnig into is accustics...it sounds like I'm talking inside a tunnel. I was wondering ..my office is ohhh 18x12x 7....if I was to egg crate it would it make any difference in a room that size...and would I have to pull everything off the wall and move all the furniture out..any suggestions...thanks in advance..peace and good spirit..... Smile

Hello Clint,

I do not believe the issue is coming from the size of the room, you may want to take a look in to this forum, it has some good comments regarding padding:

But one thing you could try will be to record inside a walk in closet, it might give you an idea if the issue is related to the lack of sound proofing.
