The station commercial producer had found me on v123 (that's one of the private leads I had mentioned in another thread). Well, he loved my work and promised me more gigs from him. Shortly thereafter he quit working there and went to a better job. Haven't heard from him since. Until just now! He just called me and and wants to hook me up with a series of 16 :30 spots for the Weather channel. He said ultimately his client would have to decide whether to use me or not, but he's highly recommending me and he is going to get back with me by Monday. It's not guaranteed, but I had to share due to my excitement at the prospect. lol He said If the client goes with me, it's going to be a guarantee of continuing work from them. |
WOW!! That's something to be very proud of!

| Todd...we are definitely gonna have to hit a bar or two together in Vegas man. Tuesday thru Saturday night? That's 4 or 5 evenings that I'm sure as hell not going to sit in my room. All comers are welcome to join in. lol |

Tom-
Good job....
Can you believe last week you were kicking yourself, we were all giving you critiques and you were so distraught you began cutting and pasting women’s pictures you surreptitiously took with your camera phone when the poor girl wasn't looking and claiming she was your wife.
Now you are the voice of THE weather channel.
I can hardly wait to hear you.
I am happy for you.... _________________ 865-686-8925

Sorry for resurrecting this thread....but I never followed up with it. I ended up not getting the gig. It turned out I was on a shortlist with 4 other guys. The Weather Channel producer really loved my voice but in the end, they went with a different guy because his voice was slightly higher pitched and sounded older...more neighborly/gardeny sounding. (The gig was for the gardening segment of the Weather Channel). So that's that.....all the congratulations were for nothing. I didn't get it. However, the guy that put me on the shortlist, did say they all thought I sounded great and that I impressed the hell out of the whole team (his words not mine). He is going to include me for all future gig opportunities that come through him (which he says will be abundant), and when his agency needs VO work done for themselves....they are going to use me. _________________ Cheers,

Tom-
Bummer about not getting the gig, but being on a short list could wind up being even better.
Good Luck! _________________ 865-686-8925

Well, while that IS a bummer, hopefully something in the future will come from this connection.
I'll treat you to one of Simon Hill's Molsons.
