Direction called for an Italian accent, I don't know if this is going too far or not. Take a listen, and let me know what you think.

Hi Scott,

I hear it as a little over the top, but more importantly, you're slipping away from Italy into the Carpathian Mountans (ie. Transylvania).

Here's a link to one of my favorite accent/dialect sites:
http://accent.gmu.edu/

They have native speakers in a variety of languages read the same paragraph. Great reference...

Click here for the Italian section

The "sicilian1" sample is closest to what Americans think of as an Italian accent.

Of course, these are all real people, so if there looking for a character, just go a bit further.

For more links, visit their "Resources" section - plenty of very detailed stuff there (check out the IPA links if you're into that)

Hope this helps,

Haha, thanks Joe, for the resource tip. I can hear myself slip into 'Treacherous defector from Soviet Union' mode on a few words, all done in fun though. They picked a guy who did 'Brooklyn', which I never knew was a province of Italy lol.

... it's considered a suburb...

Sometimes it's difficult to tell what the client really wants (and sometimes they don't know 'till they hear it - sheesh!)
