I'm not a very big advocate of tradionatl voice over classes. I think that studying improv acting or tradiional acting will do more for someone in this industry, othe than classes that might deal specifically with microphone technique.
When they hand out the Golden Pencils, Tellys, Addys and Emmys, it seems as though no points are added or deducted for using a Neumann over a Shure or a M-Audio mobile pre over an Avalon. It seems to be about the performance. |
Wow... just wow! I agree 100%. And thanks also for your personal "tube" experiences...
Stage and Improv are indispensible in building solid characters... and every voice (even the straight reads) are a character.
Sincerity is the most important thing - once you can fake that, you've got it made,

Hahahahaha, I noticed.
Guys, this is a little note I wanted to add. Due to the forums being this big now, I strongly suggest not change the topics on the threads, a lot of the information is quite valuable as a resource and we could share it more accurately if we open new threads when you want to open a different discussion.
Just trying to keep everything in place.
Thank you.

Freddie, you are making work out of it. LOL. Takes away from the "stream of conciousness." _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

i know this subject is gone stale a little about Joe's moral dilemma, But i just got this lead today? i wonder if it is the same thing that joe had?
I need to urgently cast a pro male actor and/or VO talent who is LA-based who can record the narration for a set of 12 (5-10 min) introductory-type videos for the Church of Scientology. I am looking for a male voice who sounds "ageless" i.e. doesn't sound too old or too young (probably someone who sounds in their 30s-early 40s) who has an inherent raspy, grittiness to his voice. I need someone who can give a REAL delivery, not sound like an announcer, etc. I need to cast this talent immediately. Please provide quotes.
