HIi folks,

I've got the following e-mail from Voice123 Franz Martin:

Quote:
Hello Nikita,

Last week you received and invitation to join an introductory training session for new Voice123 voice over talents. This is a live session where you will be able to:

See an interactive demonstration of Voice123's features.
Interact with Voice123's team members.

Ask any questions you might have to get answers in real time.
In case you were not able to attend the training, we are inviting you to join a new session, which has been scheduled for this Thursday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM US Eastern Time (9:00 AM US Pacific Time, 5:00 PM UK, 4:00 AM Sydney).

To join please click the following link or copy and paste it into your browser: https://www.gotomeeting.com/join/637396406

I would be happy to take part in an introductory training session but when I click the above cited link I get to the page where they offer me to install a proggy called GoToMeeting.

Frankly speaking I absolutely don't want to install anything just to take part in a training session. Is it possible to to join an introductory training session without installing anything?

Hello Nikita,

There are two parts on any training or webminar presented by Voice123, the audio and the visual presentation; The audio you can do by calling the number provided, that´s very simple.
In the other hand the visual presentation requires "Go to meeting" software, it is not harmful and it is only used to broadcast and receive, it will be inactive most of the time causing no interference with any other processes on your computer.

Try it, we´ve been using it for a long time with great results and the trainings and webminars are worth.

Hi Freddie,

Thanks for your reply. Well, I should say that you've managed to convince me: I will try that proggy and join the session.

But when? Just have a look at this e-mail reminder:

Quote:
This is a reminder of the training session we have prepared for today.

It is scheduled to be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM US East Time (9:00 AM US Pacific Time, 5:00 PM UK, 4:00 AM Sydney).

It seems Voice123 team have problems with world time terminology:

- 5:00 PM UK: UK time? What is that? I know only GMT or UTC.

- 4:00 AM Sydney today: For me it means that I'm already late for the session as 04:00:00 a.m. Thursday February 22, 2007 in Australia/Sydney converts to 07:00:00 p.m. Wednesday February 21, 2007 in Europe/Vilnius. So am I late or not?

Why not just to set a precise date (instead of 'today') and time in GMT so that anyone could convert it to his local time?

That´s not a bad idea at all, will pass it on daumen rauf .

In the meantime the training will be today at 12:00 pm EST

New York (U.S.A. - New York) Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 12:00:00 Noon UTC/GMT-5 hours EST

UTC/GMT Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 17:00:00

Vilnius (Lithuania) Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 7:00:00 PM UTC+2 hours EET

Hope that helps.

Yes, it helps! Thanks, Freddie!

One more question:

GoToMeeting isn't freeware, it's shareware. If I install it, will it be free for me to use forever or it will be only a time-limited evaluation copy?

Not to worry, it is totally free, does not have an expiration date or comes with any malware.

I'm a "newbie" as of 2-15-07, and would like to know if the "newbie" webinar mentioned elsewhere in this thread will be routinely rescheduled so I may take part in it.

I believe my current system will allow for the GoTo software required; so now it's just a matter of "when." Please provide (to my email contact) the date/time of the next such "Newbie" webinar (US EST for reference).

Thanks!!

Thanks, Freddie.

Right now, it looks like I "might" be working that day, so I can't commit myself to that time and place at this moment. Gotta pay the bills....and I also spoke to Julian Castillo about it; he said I have already accomplished what this "newbie" webinar would have covered.

I may already be set to go. Understanding it takes a while to "get off the launch pad," I'll just keep voicing on.

Cheers!
Tom Daniels

P.S. Saw the preview presentation for the new V123 -- DAMN GOOD! Can't wait for the roll-out!!
