How many Agents?

Well really now. Don't bash my dreams of finding an agent. I come here for encouragement not reality.

You need ACCESS to ISDN. You don't have to have ISDN in your *home* (and ISDN is so expensive to install that I wouldn't recommend doing so) but you need to be able to get to some studios that do have ISDN and hopefully charge reasonable rates. (The client should pay for the ISDN fee; the studio's hourly fee is sometimes paid by you and sometimes paid by the client. Your agent's job is to negotiate this.)

If you don't know of a good studio, see if the out-of-state agency that you're with represents anyone else that lives close to you--and find out what studio they're using! Smile

Also, check out Source-Connect; it's the software alternative to ISDN that doesn't use separate phone lines and just runs over your existing Internet. Such an awesome technology!

If you get an audition from more than one agent, that just gives you the opportunity to give another style of delivery IE One more shot at the job.
If they'll take you on and they know who your other agents are, why not.

If you can't do more than one style, take the first notice and pass on the rest.

No, if you get the audition through more than one agent, you should just audition from the first agent you hear from, and tell the rest, "I've already auditioned for this."

The client is not going to listen to more than one audition from the same talent. If they hear your audition and they like you, they'll book you. If they hear your audition and they don't like you, they'd sooner listen to 50 other people than listen to someone they KNOW isn't what they're looking for. If they want everyone to do the audition in more than one style, they'll ASK for multiple reads!

Don't audition more than once for the same job! Do one audition putting your best foot forward, and MOVE ON.

I have 4- all in different cities. I figure, the more lead opps the better. I may seek more, but am busy enough, thankfully. Not too often will a V123 lead be the same as one that's sent by an agent. It only happened once, and I booked the job anyway!
