That was classic Colin! What a great reminder of how gifted an actor is takes to play a drunk.

...and to make Dean Martin the sober one... genius.

The special thing there is that Foster Brooks cracked up Deano with his ad-libs.

Was that Mr. Jadah? Laughing

That's one of my favorite sketches ever. I used to imitate Foster Brooks as a kid, sans beard. It was funny, strange and somewhat alarming. Toured all the class parties doing bits. The kids threw candy.

Nah, Melba. By my standards, he's stone cold sober.

Interesting you'd post this. When I landed the role of George Hay in "Moon Over Buffalo" this past spring, I had to play a drunk for half of the show. This is one of several Foster Brooks videos I studied, along with a couple of Dudley Moore videos, to learn how to portray a drunk. Like Dean Martin, I was wiping tears from my eyes everytime I watched this.

What a charmer you are, Mr. J. Ah, yes. Just like the boys I "dated" on college radio. The effect is doubled by gazing upon your new avatar -- Yummy Ewan McGregor. Couldn't you find a publicity shot from Trainspotting? Laughing

Ewan MacGregor?! And here, I thought that was you, Robert! Thought you might be changing your name to Robert Jedi. Wink
