... is finally online
I would very much appreciate your feedback about content, design and usability and ... if you have any proposals about how to eliminate my "babelfish smelling" English translation, feel free to give me any advise
Wishing you all a wonderful, happy and exciting 2008!

Hi Thomas, I too, have found myself living in Switzerland in the past few years. I am born in Australia so I thought that maybe I could assist you with the translations on your site. Firstly, they seem very fluent and correct. I don't know if 'provisional booking' is a term that gets thrown around often in voice-over, as I am new to the field myself, however I was a little confused by 'provisional'. Also 'dubbing for movie' could be shortened to 'movie dubs' or 'movie dubbing'.
Very nice site however.

Hello Glade
thank you very much for your feedback - I appreciate it very much.
Yes, you're absolutely right with your remarks, and I'll change that right away. I was never very happy with "provisional" either - but since this kind of (here called "Optionierte Buchung") booking is not very important for customers outside of Switzerland, I'll probably change it to a simple "booking"
Are you still living in Locarno? It's a rather small VO world here, but I never had a chance to meet you somewhere.
All the best

Hi Thomas,
When designing a website for Voice Over Artists there will always be different of opinions... so here's mine.
I believe a voice talents website should incorporate 2 styles:
1. A style that reflects that of the talent. Colour, Layout, Theme, Personality should all reflect that of the Voice Artist.
2. A style that fits that of your target market (this is the hardest part as we rarely target 1 market or client base)
Remember this school of thought.... when you look at your website, look at from prospective clients eyes... when they come across your website will they be presented with an image that reflects your sound and an image that their business would be proud & confident to be associated with?
OK.... my rambling is quite generic and not targeted specifically at your site... so let me give a couple of thoughts on your site.
- I like the colour scheme... a nice blend of class & funk
- Where you have "Your VO artist for" I would change that to "Your Voice for" I personally don't use industry slang when promoting what I do.
- I think your portfolio is fantastic... but I think you should have some audio on the front page. Your audio is your product... prospective clients should be greeted with it.
Overall though it is a really nice site... and I hope it makes you millions _________________ Justin Coombes-Pearce

Hi Justin
sorry, but I've seen your reply only by today... (didn't get any "new posting" message so far...)
Thanks a lot for your feedback! Yes, you're absolutely right, "VO artist" should be (and is already) replaced by "voice"... Don't know, why this happened, 'cause on the German site I also speak of "Ihre Stimme". Maybe too much fiddling around with graphical details
I've been thinking a lot about whether I should or should not add audio to the front page. I'm still 50%/50% undecided - I would definitely like to product a short intro, but then on the other hand I have a lot of customers visiting my site frequently for downloading casting files - and I think nothing can be more annoying than listening many times to the same soundclip... And I would definitely not like to add a "no audio" button to my site :_)
Let's see, perhaps I can make my mind up later...
Thanks again for your valuable comments!
