Early this month I responded to a Smartcast invitation for a David Letterman impersonation. It was the New Hampshire Lottery promoting the 10 Times Power Play special for the month of April, read like Letterman doing the Top Ten. 50 auditions were requested, I was one of only 6 to respond! (I can't figure out why so few) Anyway, I got the nod on Monday and finished the job today! Airs on New Hampshire radio next month. Attached is the audition, not the finished product
Dancing
So I'm smilin' today, but I noticed that I now have a distinct gap between my two front teeth.

Nice work David... You've got Dave's personality down pat.

I really liked that I got an unexpected chuckle at the end with your Paul! Nice touch!!

I dunno, Dave.
I'm a Bosco fan. I'm a Letterman fan.

Let's just say I enjoyed your aud as usual, but am further convinced that the Seekers have little idea what they're looking for.
I mean, that was Whirled Quite Wide of WorldWide Pants, no?

Congrats on the gig, though. (It kind'a makes up for the times you were dead-on and unhired.)

Scott, Lance, Lee, Diane:

Thanks to all of you!

Robert:

Yeah, that was about as close as I could get to Letterman. Love your puns and thank you.

Dina:

Throwing in Paul's laugh(?) was my idea. We recorded it at the session but it remains to be seen if they'll use it.

John:

Puckerbrush? Never heard that one before. Actually, New Hampshire's great. Love visiting there, hiked Mt. Washington a couple of times.

Thanks again!

I see what you're saying Robert but what David acheived was the essence of Dave-- ya know? It didn't "sound" like DL but that DL personality, that je ne sais quois, came through loud and clear to me. Maybe that's what the client was looking for. Ya never know.

I'm just tickled to see you posting again Robert. Thanks for keeping it real.

Still loved that obnoxious Paul laugh! If I were a client, I tell you what, THAT would've made me remember David-- if not for this project then perhaps for something else.

Now, I gotta go watch Penn State lose their next water polo match.
