Hi All,
I was thinking of attending the voiceover International Creative Experience seminar in Vegas in March, but am a little hesitant after reading this post:

What do you think?

Thoughts....
I read all of Todd Schick's review. I understand some of his points. I also have some questions.
Was Todd asking to attend for free if he presented at the conference?
Todd criticizes V123 for bringing people into the VO industry but it seems like he is happy to bring them in too if they come through him.
The venue and hotel are pretty low rent. But they are not that far out and the actual rooms are pretty nice. I used to stay there a lot when traveling through Vegas.
I have some concerns about the quality of the event, but when I first started in this business the book almost everyone said to get was Alburger's. He is speaking there himself. I think that alone is probably worth the 500 bucks.
I have attended many other conferences. In both TV broadcasting and networking. The cost for this conference is a fraction of CES, Cisco Networkers or NAB.
Because the hotel is about one third the cost of staying at the strip hotels that will save a lot of money also.
In the end, if this event works at all it will take off and there will be more of them. If it doesn't, you had a nice trip to Vegas and the cost was pretty low. Many people will blow more than 500 bucks in the casinos on the first night.
Todd seems like a pretty informed guy. He obviously did his homework. He also obviously has a bit of an axe to grind. I have seen some of Frederic's posts and he can be brusque. He seems to have a fairly loyal following though.
Sorry about the length, but there is a lot of stuff going on at that link. _________________ 865-686-8925

This has already been discussed in great detail.

No need to do this again.
Just for the record, I am very suspicious of your motives in the frist place for bringing this up. If you are a troll, you may go away now. |

| Thanks for most of your comments. I wasn't aware the topic had come up before but I did follow the link and read the other posts. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time. |
