OK, Friends, I would love your thoughts:
I was curious after the hot topic in the Forum, I asked for my client ratings today. I've been signed on with V123 for 3 months, I've answered upwards of 800 leads, and I landed 7 paying gigs (good ones, I might add) with a few jobs hanging in the balance. Now, here's what's puzzling to me:
I received only 24 responses. Out of those, on a scale from 1 - 100, with 1 being most Unprofessional and 100 being Excellent:
6 rated me at 100
6 rated me 75
7 rated 50
and 5 rated me as a 1
While I am taking all this with a grain of salt, I'm intrigued as to how some can give us a bottom-of-the-barrel rating while others give an excellent.
Or am I completely missing the boat on this? |

| Cira, How were you able to get your client ratings? Who did you call? Thanks, Marilyn Taylor |

In Vulcan-speak, I can only say "Fascinating, Captain."
That is truly bizarre, and a strong indicator that change is overdue.
It also almost makes me want to root out mine; just for giggles.
As regards the low ratings, might you have submitted Generics in reply to Custom requests? That would certainly prompt a client to grade as Unprofessional.
Or - more likely - the client was ratings-dyslectic and graded you on the wrong end of the scale.
Whatever; since it affects your image and DB score, it is worth kvetching about, and we can only hope fervently that the New 123 will bring a more equitable system.
And world peace. At about the same time.

I have two 1 ratings. Both are from leads that were generic. But I went back and looked at what they wrote and it was the jerks who won't pay for a custom lead but then put in their lead the copy and ask you to read it.
I for one can't wait to get to the "new V123". I am hoping it has some filters for stuff like this.
It is also one of the reasons why I think it is required that talent be able to rate talent seekers. Then people won't leave bad feedback unless it is really warranted. _________________ 865-686-8925

I posted a job once for a client that I work for on a regular basis. After I posted the job, and there were a bunch of demos loaded up for him to hear (including one from me), I gave him the log in information to review the demos.
I don't know how he rated everyone else, but he said he gave me a 50 (!) Why? "Because we knew we weren't going to use you for the spot because you had a conflict in that market."
WTH??? |

| FWIW, you can go on live chat with someone at v123 and get the results. That's what I did. |

Tom - Same here. I bet Customer Service is getting hit from this board with a bunch of requests.
I am a little nervous...I really don't feel like bawling like a baby this week.

Yeah, Kidz, it's all kinda krazy kinky and kooky.
Marilyn---like Scott, I tried the Chat line and I got my ratings immediately.
Robert, I don't know in what capacity I was rated (generic, custom, etc.) but I'd rather err on the side of caution and take the 100's at face value! But at any RATE (insert groaning sfx here), I agree, the system needs an overhaul.
Kathleen, don't cry.....yours couldn't possibly be worse than mine!
And finally, why are all my emoticons in German??

Cira, I had wondered about that, too. I figured it was Herr Carr, my high school German teacher, worming his way in there trying to shame me for not keeping up with the language after high school.
My ratings were almost equal - about the same # of 1s and 100s, and about the same # of 50s and 75s. Doesn't do much good if you aren't inside the head of the one doing the rating, so I'm not going to worry about it too much. I would encourage the rest of you to not sweat it too much, either - at least at this point. Perhaps a new system would be more helpful for our own self-evaluation. |
