|
|
Hey, I got my first two bites on V123 this week, and boy was I thrilled. One guy I'm working with fine. But the other guy just Private Lead contacted me based on my audition, then never responded again. I tried both emails he had, no phone was listed, so I couldn't phone him. Its been 48 hours since his first contact. Is that unusual?
Any client horror stories?
Thanks.

Hello Heather,
Be patient, some clients might take a little longer getting back to the talent. |

Sad to say, but that's pretty common, Heather.
I suggest you stop chasing him. He found you once, and he'll find you again if he needs to.
The Private Leads are misnomers. They should properly be called "Less Public Leads". The client may very well have sent out a couple of dozen Privates for the same job. I think it's something we'll have to get used to; since the new V123 will probably generate more of that sort of filtered talent pool.
Hey; one out of two ain't bad.

Robert is exactly right in what the leads should actually be called, or at least how we should perceive them. This has happened to me numerous times. After one or two attempts to connect with the client I leave the ball in his court and go on to other business. _________________ Scott R. Pollak

That has happened to me as well.....another thing that puzzles me, and I think I mentioned this before....is I've gotten a private lead, and before I could even respond to the lead it shows up as a public lead. What's the point in sending someone/s a private lead if you're just going to make it a public lead before the people have a chance to respond.....in my case, it became public about 2 hours apparently. after the private lead was sent. THAT makes no sense to me. _________________ Cheers,

...and I've gotten private leads that are people asking VO advice. Ug. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

Same here. I sent an audition for a public lead, then got a private lead asking a question about my rate. Never heard back from them. Oh well. I don't even count that one. _________________ Allen Scofield

Well, at least I got something from V123. From the other site the only thing I ever got was a guy ostensibly looking for other people with my last name! Ostensibly, was that once a word?
Thanks to ya'all...my demo sucks less now than it did then, though.
Appreciate the word.
