Hello everyone,

Just posting for the sfirst time her. It's nice to see a forum like this that looks like it will actually be meaningful to us pros, and not another "how do I get started doing voice overs" forum.

I have been in this business my entire adult life from the other side, engineering and editing other voices. I finally got the nerve to make my demo and now am trying to make my big splash.

I would like to see more info posted about the winners of the gigs. How much they bid, an how many past gigs thay won, or, if nothing else, which reply they were. I wonder if the 100th reply to a bid EVER gets listened to.

So far I have bid on over 150 gigs and got none. Hoping my luck changes soon.

Best to you all, and THANK YOU to the voice123 folx for building such a nice site for us all!

About this, it is a suggestion that is being discussed in one of our forums and it being considered for future development, here’s the link:

See you around.

Chuck, just keep doing those demos. The quicker you get in the better your chances are! It took a while but I've received some work and some of it has turned into repeat business.
Keep plugging along and good luck!

Good for you John. Like you, Chuck, I've bid on a lot of jobs, and have received only 2 replies that said they chose someone else. From all the others I heard nothing. But, as was suggested, I'm still plugging away at those custom demos and hoping they'll listen to the 199th audition.

Hey Chuck!
Welcome - from another one who came over to the "other" side of the mic!

I was on the engineering/editing side as well for about 15 years when I finally decided to incorporate being a VO talent into my bag of tricks....It has been a blast! I still love editing, but I love the VO talent side as well!

Keep on sending those demos! Just think of it as practice for that job you'll be perfect for (How do you get to Carnegie Hall?) Wink

Anyway...good to know there are others like me out there as well! Very Happy

Liz
